2020 Airac update reset DLLS FG file

Featured Replies

So like everyone I got the Airac update and immediately noticed that performance seemed off with a lot of new stuttering.

Checked DLLS and sure enough it had reset the DLSS FG file back to 3.5 I believe it said.  Updated back to the latest and problem solved, performance was restored to stutter free.

Not sure if anyone else will run into the same or why an Airac update is changing FG files but just in case you noticed a performance change since the Airac update it is something to check.

Thanks for the heads-up, I don't know what it was, but mine had changed to 3.7.

PC: Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite, AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080 Super Aorus Master, DDR5 G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 2X32 GB, Corsair HX 1000, Fractal Torrent, Samsung LC32 / G7 1440P.

that's what I got with every update. Airac itself is not the culprit per se, they obviously reinstall their outdated DLSS versions with each update without telling or asking, same procedure as every year James!

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

Are you on steam or MS Store?

Updates on steam don't replace files unless the update itself does, but MS store updates replace anything that doesn't match what they have on record.

I very much doubt that this is the AIRAC update. I find it more likely that you are part of the SU1 Beta and since there was a new build the day after the AIRAC update, that is likely what caused the reinstallation of the old DLLS version and not the AIRAC.

This makes much more sense to me

The title of the thread is 2020.  What SU1 Beta?

Did either of you read the thread title or the post above yours?  I am on the MS store version

Who is "they?" I've not had any DLSS dlls replaced except intentionally, by myself. I have the MS Store version.

MSFS2020 store version.

I find mine tend to reset every time there is an update.  It was just the DLSSFG not the main DLSS file this time.

And hey, it's a better suggestion than the people saying it was caused by the 2024 SU1 Beta and the people liking that comment despite it saying 2020 in the title and me correcting them in the thread...

I don't even think some people read the title or the responses in the thread before they respond themselves sometimes...

I think you might have discovered the secret of social media commentary. 😉

Sorry, I've missed that. Doesn't change the fact something has changed my FG file as well

"and so it came to pass. The Great Social Media Realisation. After decades of ignoring thread titles and scrolling at the speed of light through other people's comments in a rush to make their own post the truth dawned on people: THEIR titles and posts were being ignored too..."
