"mild signs of toxicity can occur when 0.3 ounces per pound of the cat's weight body is ingested. Severe signs occur when 1 ounce per pound of bodyweight is swallowed." I suspect if I ate an ounce per pound of my body weight of chocolate, it would be severely toxic to me, too. 😄 For what it's worth, if I eat a bowl of chocolate ice cream, one of the dogs or cats gets the empty bowl. All animals are currently functioning normally. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

March 8, 20251 yr That's a suicide mission 😂 (there should be a LOL reaction, apart from like and upvote) Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. A better way to go than to laying in a hospital bed full of tubes. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
March 8, 20251 yr It took a bit of searching, but I found the same information for dogs. "Chocolate contains theobromine, a stimulant that can be toxic to dogs." "Using a dose of 100 mg/kg as the toxic dose it comes out roughly as: 1 ounce per 1 pound of body weight for milk chocolate. 1 ounce per 3 pounds of body weight for semisweet chocolate. 1 ounce per 9 pounds of body weight for Baker's chocolate." For dogs, also avoid grapes, garlic and avocados. ----- Another caution for cats is that they can't metabolize THC. It's best not to get your cat stoned, but in one case I'm familiar with (I wasn't the stoner), the cat could talk (three different phrases used in proper context) and count to three, but not four. Me: "Meow row row?" Kitty: "Meow row row." Me: "Meow row row row?" Kitty: <silence> I didn't think to try two groups of two. After that I can't totally discount the stoned ape theory. It wasn't a monolith, it was a mushroom! 🙂 ----- If you check out that person's YouTube channel, they have an affinity for videos of AI cats farting.
