March 11, 20251 yr Close to ESGP Säve are some VOR BAK 112.7 and NOL 113.2. But when I at ESGP tune in them the CDI does not react. The needles are not affected. I have made sure I am in NAV mode not GPS mode and the engine is running. Have tried several aircraft. Neither can I here the morse code from them. But in the GPS the tuned frequency correctly list the VOR name together with distance and bearing to it. Also in the VFR map I see the VOR station. So why can't I use them with the CDI ? Could also mention that in P3DV5.5 everything works as expected. What's going on here ?

NOL is de-commisioned, it happened some time after ESGP lost commercial traffic due to poor taxiway strength (in 2014) BAK is DME-only nowadays, and supports enroute RNAV5 mostly. 26 minutes ago, srcooke said: Where is NOL located ? it was located at N5746.4 E01149.4, according to my old TMA chart from 2004. And how can I know if a VOR is de commisioned or DME only. In PlanG they both have VOR symbols and info states them as VOR.
March 11, 20251 yr You have to use current real-world charts or a database for something like Plan G that is up-to-date. Navigraph can supply both. You just need a planning tool that reflects the current MSFS database. Use LittleNavmap. That will read your current database in the sim. Edited March 11, 20251 yr by Farlis
March 21, 20251 yr 2024 is definitely missing some VOR’s/VORTAC’s. For example TTH near KHUF is listed both on the VFR Sectional and the Runway 5 Approach Chart on current FAA charts both within the sim and on Skyvector. But the VORTAC is not shown on either the Garmin or EFB nor will you receive the station by tuning to it on your NAV radio. I haven’t checked 2020 to see if it’s missing there too. March 21, 20251 yr Well, after relaunching the sim that VORTAC now appears. So there must be a bug or something when switching planes with different avionics within the same session.
