ATC

I am aware of BATC and SayIntentions.  I think there was another prog where you could talk to ATC - was that Pilot2ATC but was there not another prog as well or is my memory playing tricks on me?

May have been.  ATM I am thinking about giving Sayintentions a try but I think you have to go on the waiting list for the free trial version.

If you want to buy it you don't have to wait, otherwise you can ask a user you know to send you a "cupon" to participate in the beta trial and you don't have to wait in the queue...

Nope, you're not wrong: there's FSHud and the old VoxATC. I understand the latter has the MSFS version under development.

Yes - Pilot2ATC is also a voice activated one and I used that for most of last year for VR, voice-activated, ATC.

However, while it was a triumph in its time and has been going for quite a few years, its age shows and is nowhere near as user-friendly or flexible as BATC (which I use now) or, presumably, SI (which I haven't tried).  It also has no AI element at all and so the terminology has to be absolutely rigidly in line with its own structure.  The learning curve on Pilot2ATC - which they themselves stress - is VERY steep.  I have found BATC a walk in the park in comparison.  I'm sure that SI is equally user-friendly.

I think it must have been pilot2atc I tried a while back and could never get to work properly so gave up.  I'm looking forward to the chance to try sayintentions in the near future and hope there will not be quite so much of a learning curve.

It took me three months of trial and error (more error than trial) to get the hang of Pilot2ATC using voice activation - and even then, probably only did successful ATC flights 1 to 2 out of every 3 tries.  You will find that both SI and BATC are in a different league in learning curve steepness and in success rate ongoing.

Works pretty well for me, although in terms of voice recognition and voices BATC beats it hands down.

Still use v2 for XP flights, I have v3 but never had it working well enough to complete a flight.

Every FS flight now is with BATC, it's not perfect, but it has improved a lot since it came out. Might do the trial for SI at some point, although in all honesty there is zero chance of me getting it.....
