April 2, 20251 yr Greetings, Can someone please help me? After several years of error free X-Plane I am dealing with a problem. After several months of being away from XPlane i just logged into the sim that immediately updated to the most recent version of 12.14-r3-c8d19b62 (build 121407) Started the sim and got a message that it crashed reading X -Plane appears to have crashed due to a plugin. Please remove this plugin as a first step. If you think this is incorrect, email a screenshot of this message to support. Crash Details as_xconnect12. Problem is I do not see the plugin in the plugin list and have no idea what it is. Did anyone else have this problem or idea what is going wrong? Sim worked perfect up until the update. BTW after displaying the error message sim appears to work fine. Thanks in advance.
April 2, 20251 yr Author Ok. It happens every-time I start the sim. Next time I use it i will do that. Ty.
April 2, 20251 yr Author I am still getting the crash error notice when I start XPlane. Never had this problem until the last update. Its plugin related as~xconnet12.connect Can someone please tell me how to attach my flight log file to this thread? I never had to do this before. Believe it or not this is my first ever problem after using the sim for years. I found the log location, just not sure how to attach it as requested. Thank you. Edited April 3, 20251 yr by cbreeze
April 3, 20251 yr Cut and paste here the last few lines of your blog, where the error occurrence is described... If it's too long use a "spoiler". Regarding the plugin, look for it under the "xp12 \resources\plugins" folder. April 3, 20251 yr The log will only help so much - it rarely ever contains clear evidence of what the problem is. All it does is tell us whether you run any plugins (you do, we know already) and maybe whether your drivers are up to date (you should be able to check that yourself). Other than that, you will have to bite the bullet. If X-Plane crashes, the first step is to ascertain it runs in it´s basic (we call it "vanilla") form - no third-party-content WHATSOEVER. Run it for a while to make sure it does not crash - if it does, there is a problem with your computer environment (OS, hardware, overclocking,...) If it doesn´t, add your FIRST add-on. Run again to test. If it crashes now, you have found the bad apple. If it doesn´t, add the next one... You get the idea. There is debate as to how long you should test in between adding the next add-on... the answer is "long enough so you can rule out that X-Plane crashes with that add-on". The exact time depends on your personal level of impatience and desire to really have a stable system 😉
April 3, 20251 yr I assume Active Sky 12, the plugin name rings a bell. Shouldn't take more than 10 seconds to check what's inside the X-Plane 12\Resources\plugins folder and list the plugins here if you struggle to upload a picture
June 9, 2025Jun 9 Suffering the same with my XP12. The file (module) appears to be the connector used over a network. Its not in the plugins folder. Its a separate fiel and you can find it in the programmes in Control Panel. I removed mine and no further errors. Reinstalled - errors showing again BUT it doesnt seem to affect XP12 at all. Waiting on HIFISIm response. Rob GrantCompass Airlines - Stretch Your Wings Australia
