Inibuilds A300-600 and BELUGA revisited...

Featured Replies

In the cloudy sim I purchased the INIBUILDS A350 recently, and had to reinstall the IniManager app, so, it was time to reinstall 2 of my three purchases (I regret having purchased the A310 which was abandoned as they moved to the clouds....)

I actually like the two. OFC I'll have to re-leran how to opperate an A300 and the BELUGA since it's been a long time since I last used either, but they look nice, and a test flight was also a good remind that their feel of flight was not bad at all... I wish the A350 felt the same way in the cloudy sim 🙂

Biggest issue for me is the AP feels sloth, always get 100+feet and 10+kts off when leveling off from climb/descend.

In the "Final" version they even added 2 new major bug that the aircraft isn't cold and dark when it should be, and APU bleed always leak... and just leave it as that....

Most of the normal flight goes as SOP, but these issues is really annoying....

One bug I have reported is when you try input PBD waypoint like VOR/320/25, it read the "320" part as radian, rather than degree, they fixed it for A300 and A310, but not Beluga....

No pop-out FMC nor WEBFMC support, I finally give up and made a mock up with x-texture extractor and x-Keypad.

No nosewheel small angle steering with rudder input (if setup with tiller), They said it's simulator limitation but I fixed it via FWL in like 20 lines...

Thx for the report on those annoying bugs, indeed 😞

A pitty it doesn't appear to get any further updates ...

Why would you want the A350 to feel like all these other planes? They are completely different planes. It's not a A319 vs A320 comparison. It also blew my mind when users said the A400 didn't feel like an Airbus. Watch the last Inibuilds dev stream on YouTube from a few days ago, they addressed whether it should feel like the other planes.

Well, I am aware of the differences, OFC 🙂

But I am also aware of the inertias, starting from ground while taxiing... and you simply don't have it in MSFS like in Xp12, in **any** aircraft ...

He's not talking about the two aircraft per se, but rather the overall handling physics.

I've done quite a bit of direct (as possible) comparisons between the sims.

Generally speaking, the handling physics in XP is still more satisfying than in MSFS, and especially on the ground and in the transitions between ground/air.

The point is not to disparage the other sim or it's add-ons, as they've considerably improved (and are still) over the last 4-5 years.

It's simply to say that there is still a considerable gap in certain areas, and for me and others, that perception is enough to keep our preference largely on X-Plane.

In that case, a comparison of the flight factor A350 vs the inbuilds A350 would be more informative. A comparison of the Beluga's flight characteristics with those of the A350 does not make sense to me, as they are in totally different categories, and I'd expect them to fly differently. Similarly, you wouldn't compare a Cessna to a 320.

Generally, it comes down to the developer's skill, in my opinion.  There are planes that fly great in both sims, and there are planes that fly terribly in both. There is no guarantee that a plane will fly better solely based on the simulator.

You're absolutely right, but unfortunately I don't own the FF A350 😕

I do own the FF A350, but not the ini A350... Just haven't been in MSFS enough lately to buy anything for it. I AM very much looking forward to the joint Toliss/FF A350, so hopefully there are more news on that soon. The FF A350 flies and feels decent. It's weaker on systems and textures than any other FF products, so... it's OK, just could be a lot better. I have been pretty happy with the ini buses in MSFS though, no complaints there. Just taking some time away from that platform.

I'm with you, although I do not own the FF 350, but I do look fwd into the FF/Toliss 350 v2 !!!

And I agree too regardimng the INIBUILDS offers for MSFS 2024. I really like the A350 in FS2024.

He doesn't HAVE the FF A350... So it's hard to compare.

What he DOES have is other Airbuses from the same dev across different simulators.

And I'm sure he isn't directly comparing the Beluga or A300 to the A350, but rather how airliners from the same developer across two different sims generally handle.

So, he's not, as you said, comparing an A320 to a Cessna, he's comparing wide-body Airbuses...

Though anecdotal, it's still entirely reasonable.

...not like he's claiming a "scientific" compare/contrast, right...?

While I absolutely agree that developer skill weighs heavily on the physics fidelity, there are intrinsic advantages to X-Plane's dev workflow that generally deliver a better overall handling experience than in ToS - all other things being equal.

The Beluga is not a suitable reference for judging an A350—completely different planes. I wouldn't want my A350 to feel like the Beluga. Being from the same developer or sim is irrelevant.  In fact, the beluga is more comparable to the A300. I think the OP understood my point and agreed.

Agree.

Just to clarify for the folks who might not know, the FF A350 in X-Plane is basically a 10 YEAR old addon from XP version 10 that's only had a couple minor improvements in all that time. Whereas the iniBuilds A350 is a brand new State of the Art addon.

10 years separating core addon builds is a looooooong time 🙂

It might be more reasonable to compare something like the FF B777 or the Toliss A330, both of which are very new addons still in active development like the iB A350 is.

(just to be clear, this is non-judgmental in re sims or developers! 🙂 )
