Boise to Palo Alto - New XP12 Major Update

Featured Replies

If you haven't heard, XP12 has received a major facelift (along with other great fixes).  The lighting, clouds, and dark cockpits have been addressed and it's shaping up to be an excellent sim.

I've not flown XP12 for a "serious" flight in ages - I mostly use it for beta testing.  But if you're on the fence I'd seriously give it another look with the latest beta 12.2.0.

Here I'm flying the Lancair Legacy from KBOI to KPAO near San Francisco.  It's equipped with O2 so I've found a lovely cruise speed of around 270 ktas at 16k.  The trip takes a bit over 2 hours covering nearly 500 miles.  I've also added the TDS GTNxi into my XP12 aircraft 🙂

Those A10s are pretty nice but my Lancair can also climb like a homesick angel!

The Lancair Legacy is the fastest piston single (unless you count the P51 lol)

We're well underway leaving Boise, Idaho in the distance, and we've donned our oxygen.  I'm using XP Map Enhancement app (streaming ortho for free, or a bit higher quality is available behind a paywall)

An absolutely gorgeous day to fly - we've got a partial tailwind as well.  We'll see ground speeds of over 280 knots!

Perhaps you recognize this airport from our famous Mr. Bazzilio's work in MSFS?

There is a final approach course offset of 15 degrees so we make a slight bank to line up for final

It's a bit of a maze to find the FBO way down on the south side of the field, but we're here!

Really nice set!

Aerobask does good work, and XP is coming along quite nicely 👍

Very Nice flight. I think would try that one in VR for an early morning start. 😃

Great looking set! I really need to try the map enhancement.

Lovely trip, images, and travelogue...Ryan...from XP12...If I recall the Lancair Legacy is one of your many first loves from the bygone SIMs...🙂... Glad, you are getting to fly it all over again in the improved XP...

Your (custom) TDS GTNxi here seems to fit nicely into this flightdeck...🙂...

Palo Alto, I recall well...had taken the US-101 to/through it during my two trips to San Francisco...The Redwoods visits distinctly come to my mind now...such a beautiful place....
