Thanks everyone for the input, I went ahead with AMD!

Now, just have to upgrade PSU and pull everything out and rewire it all.... : )

Cheers

Please give feedback! What model did you buy?

Would really like to get your feedback, even more if you are also and xPlane user.

It's an idea but I worry that MSFS 2024 seems to need massive amounts of VRAm so 24GB might future proof for a bit. Not sure how critical DLSS is.

Imho dlss, at least as it is, is a waste of time if you're planning to use aircraft like airliners where crisp display of unstruments is crucial.

I used it for a while but reverted to TLA.

I read somewhere recently that AMD cards use more VRAM than NVidia, so a 24GB AMD card is essentially the equivalent of having a 16GB NVidia card.  I have also heard NVidia cards generally perform better in VR than AMD GPUs.  I cannot confirm either of those statements, as I have not used AMD GPUs for many years.  I am currently running a 9800X3D/5080 combo, which with I have had good results.

Since SU2 does support FSR 3 there is no need to buy expensive Nvidia cards anymore

FSR 3 quality seems lower than dlss 4 from what I have read.

Not true with DLSS 4 and DLAA in 24 and for example with setting K different experience,  blur and not sharp is for me local something from the past...

I would choose with VRAM now solved in 24 SU2 beta DLSS 4 over 24 GB ram on an AMD card.

@Purr

TAA is where its at.

I don't think you will need to struggle for frames (Its a 7900XTX) but if you need a higher frame rate your next stop is TAA+framegen+a base frames lock (to help with pacing) not upscaling (This is not a low end midrange card) and you have multiple options to try for framegen. If you don't know how to implement them with the Radeon Adrenalin Software you can PM me.

Congrats on your purchase
