I have to say this.  Laminar are absolute machines.  They're coming out with updates almost every week.  And these aren't minor updates.  This one is 2.6GB on the Mac.

Wow, beta3 is out.
It's mine! ✈️

I'm confused.  Is this the same efis007 that was criticizing X-Plane's lighting for months??

Glad to see it's now meeting your expectations.

Waiting for that  TBM now…. Been waiting along time too! 😄 are we close Goran?

Tbh, we've been close for a year.  At this point, almost all of it has been remodelled, which was never the plan.  It was just meant to be a few fixes.

No ETA, but it's the point where I'm very happy with how it looks.  Perhaps 20% of it the model remains to be completed with the 3D, then it's headed for the texture department.

It seems to me that I have switched from MSFS to X-Plane on last year at the right time.😉

Especially almost every XP12 update brings new and cool features to the sim.

These are the things that make me take xp12 seriously.

Weather

Improved physics for icing and turbulence within clouds.

That’s great to hear Goran, looking forward to getting my hands back on the tbm. You know I’ve been flight simming since 1999, I’m 58 years old and I’m well into this hobby, got the Microsoft simulators installed with all the major addons, you name em I’ve got em all but I keep keep going back to the Challenger and as I say the TBM when you guys release it, and are you doing a Airbus A220??? Correct me if I’m wrong … but over the years I go back to XPlane for that true feeling of flight as far as you can get anyway on a PC but yiu guys make best for sure, fenix and pmdg are great I know, inibuilds etc all mega but  that Challenger and the TBM….. WOW…. I love em! I’ll fly em forever and the A220 if you are going to do that too! Cheers 🍻😄

¡Guau!... ¡Me encantan! Los volaré para siempre, y el A220 si ustedes también lo hacen. Saludos 🍻 😄

Saludos Paul

You were doing well until you came to Inibugs....🤣

@jcomm thanks for the heads up - I’ve installed the latest beta and it’s phenomenal.  I keep rotating with AFS4 and MSFS2024 and the look, the feel, everything is simply awesome with XP12.  I’m not even using any orthopedic/author tho as I like the very consistent coloring (and crispness) of the scenery, the runways, etc.

And I believe I've (finally) found a way to get a smooth FPS on my modest rig (10900K and 3070) - I set my Nvidia control panel to Max Frame Rate of 30 FPS, Vertical Sync to Half Refresh Rate (Adaptive), then run Lossless Scaling to "Adaptive" with a target of 60 FPS with Sync Mode to "Vsync" - and somehow it's allowing me glassy smoothness even when flying the wonderful FF 757-200 which is (for me) normally heavy enough on frames to make my PC drop below the sync'd constant 30FPS I need to stay smooth on my 60hz 4K TV.

It's like a whole new sim for me, and I'm loving it!  (latest XP12 beta)

@Republic DC9, Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm !

Yes, if we close our minds and eyes to what is going around with our World, mostly sad / depressing / awful..., we have to agree that we simmers should really be happy for the times we're able to live right now.

We have two great simulators, well, actually more than two if you count AFS4 indeed, but also (although unfortunately in the military side of the spectrum) IL-2 and DCS World, but MSFS 2024 and X-Plane 12 are both excellent flight simulators.

I can't stop playing both (and yet another specific of my RL flying activity - Condorsoaring 3).

I can't actually say I prefer this or that one. All are simply AMAZING!

MSFS 2024 is superbly optimized, runs smooth as silk on my low end rig, has ASTOUNDING scenery detail, has some really nice addons. X-Plane 12 is extraordinarilly realistic flight dynamics and overall physics wise, has the most advanced ever default / built-in ATC, which started with lot's of problems and limitations but has progressed so much and so well that it turns out to be my preferred even against BATC and FSHUD which I use with MSFS. Default ATC in MSFS is very buggy and limited 😕, and SayIntentions is interesting, but a bit expensive ....

12.2 has colours, lighting, crispness, that physics camera, weather rendering and effects that I have to consider the BEST EVER among all flight simulators I have used, not counting SlientWings and Condorsoaring for the soaring niche...

We have to feel really Happy !!!

Regarding your option, I decided to follow @Ianrivaldosmith suggestion and:

1) Have no FPS or Vsync defined in the sim settings or in the Nvidia Inspector or Control Panel;

2) Use RivaTuner to set FPS limit to 29;

3) Use LosslessScaling with 2x factor;

and I get a very very smooth / amazing ride at 60 FPS !!!!

X-Plane never performed so smooth and looked so great before 😍

TBM update will be the next one coming.  Then a CL650 update (more like an overhaul with a few extras) then the A220.

Fantastic...cant wait!!

La próxima actualización será la del TBM. Después, la del CL650 (más bien una renovación con algunos extras) y la del A220.

If requests are welcome, I would like to see the warmer (yellow) lighting as seen in this video for the cl650.
