April 18, 20251 yr Do you use it for more than simply cut & paste of an externaly built (Simbried in my case) flightplan, so that it can become availabe in the FMC of some of the default aircraft? Even the default aircraft appear not to have performance data available? Setting up weight & ballance is so clumsy. I have a series of fileds to enter, with interesting details like taxi fuel, ... but then I can't simply type ZFW and go? Finally with the latest SU2 betas I can set Fuel as a whole, not bad... Can you point me to some worth watching / informative document / youtube about how to use the MASOBO FlightPlanner to it's best? Thx! I don't use it at all. Well, only to pick departure and destination. I create the plan in SimBrief and load it into MSFS2024 using the free SimBrief app on the MSFS2024 EFB. I only load it once I am on the tarmac and in the cockpit. The plan is then loaded into the EFB itself and in the systems of the plane in use. I only use the MSFS2024 free flight map to position myself.

For you to know that Simbrief has an option to built the flightplans internally in the sim, so you can plan your flight within the session if you wish. April 18, 20251 yr My brother initially used it as he started with FS24 first. He used it for route building then entered the routes in simbrief and let it handle the rest. Then slowly moved over to navigraph as he discovered some game changing features. I think the flight planner is great initially but navigraph ultimately reigns supreme but that’s a no-brainer considering their respective ages. I really look forward to seeing the planner grow.
April 18, 20251 yr I do not use it all when flying an airliner; the whole Simbrief/Navigraph arrangement pretty powerful and seamless for this kind of flying. For GA, however, which I fly most of the time, I do use it to workout my full route and then enter that route into the GTN or G1000 manually. MSFS 2024. I really love the 24 EFB for this purpose. Cut paste is not necessary at all and here is my sequence: I choose a gate/ramp for departure and launch the plane there I then use the Download OFP option in Simbrief which is a single click action I then scroll down in the EFB FP page and Load from PC, choose the downloaded OFP and voila, the OFP from SB is in the EFB. From there we tweak the departure runway to match what BATC is using, which is frequently the same as SB, but not always. Lastly, we use the Export to Avionics or however it's labeled And further, loving the charts provided in the EFB for details on arrival especially, ILS freq or other, very handy! April 18, 20251 yr Author @Noel, excellent hint, and now I myself recall having done it that way some time ago 😕 (I'm really getting oldish...) But for aircraft without SB integration like the default GA and even some of teh default airliners, I would also like to be able to use the EFB to set Fuel and Payload, and it would be great to have Performance for aircraft type available for each of the default aircraft since they were buit by ASOBO or under subcontract and surely those who designed the models took that into consideration (?). Unfortunately all of those I tried to use say "Performance not available" 😞 Then I would really like to have a functional, intuitive way of setting the weights, but it starts with the EFB not remembering my last choices for measure units, having to set it to my liking everytime, and then not having a simple way to set, say, ZFW .... April 18, 20251 yr Yes it's true there are limitations but the entire route and runways is done quickly and that is far more onerous to me than a few fields like fuel, cargo and ZFW in both the 787X and Longitude gives me something to do while SLC does its thing loading, monitoring APU startup, sensing refueling, etc. Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. With one click the SB plan is loaded into the EFB, the avionics and (obviously) the SB plugin itself! If BATC changes a procedure you can simply change it in the aircraft systems (far more realistic) after which (if you want to) you can use the EFB option to get the (current!) plan from the avionics (so you will automatically see the appropriate charts in the EFB). Works like a charm. This way you can skip downloading the plan to your PC, loading it into the EFB (which isn't exactly a one click solution) and exporting it to the avionics. All that is done with one click if you use the SB app.

The total number of clicks for me is 5 as I do it now. Right now before I import the plan I make the change in SB to what BATC dictates and if I forget do it in avionics. I wonder if I downloaded the wrong SB app if that's possible. I found the latest version of the app and the total number of clicks required turns out to be four. Maybe there is a way to make the SB app page the default that opens when you open the EFB? After I open the EFB (done w/ a side button on my mouse) it's then... Click the Other Apps button Click the SB app button Click the View Recent Flight Click Import Maybe there will be some add'l value beyond saving one click?
