About a week ago I bought scenery for Los Cedros in Ecuador (SKLC). It was made by Alfa Delta Simulations.

simMarket: LOS CEDROS P3D4-5

When I go to install it, I enter the activation code and I get an error that says it could not verify the serial number. Does anyone have this scenery have the same problem? I emailed the developer but haven't heard back. What if anything am I doing wrong? How can I install this scenery?

Do you have the SimMarket APP try going through that for help. It often shows the code with product after purchase.

I just downloaded the app and the activation code is the same. I wonder if I should open a ticket?  Or maybe this is a problem with the developer?

Make sure to insert the code without an empty space at the end or the word key: at the begin and of course the e-mail you used to buy. 

If this is not the problem, a ticket was the best option for you. They help you fast during workdays.

When I first tried to install the scenery, I typed out the activation code and it didn't work. I tried a second time and copied and pasted the activation code so there were no errors that time and it still didn't work.

I did fill out a help ticket a few minutes ago at Simmarket.

For info, I’ve bought loads of airport scenery from SimMarket and installed without issues.

I don’t use their app. I go to the website and download the exe file for the airport in question. Then run it and I enter the codes copied and pasted from my Order section. I don’t type them manually.

Well, I have an update. I don't think I am going to get help for this. Simmarket responded to my help ticket. They said they sent an email to Alpha Delta Simulations telling them to help me. I don't think I am going to get help for this because I sent an email to them 3 days ago asking for help, haven't heard back from them.

 

Ray, I don't use the app either. I get my exe files and access codes from the website. And this is the first scenery I bought that I cannot get to work because it is not recognizing the activation code (I copied and pasted the code when the installer asked for it).

@Joseph29, sounds like the developer has done a runner. You should get a refund hopefully and SimMarket should withdraw the product from sale.

I am going to wait another day or two, if I don't hear anything then will ask for a refund. To me it sounds like the developer dropped P3D and that is why I can't get the activation code to work.

I had the same problem with another scenery. In the end I bit the bullet and bought the airport from ORBX.

If it asks you to enter an email address, make sure it is the same as the address used for the purchase, and make sure you use the same capitalisation. If the developer does not respond in a reasonable timeframe then SimMarket will refund you, but you need to give it a few days before escalating. I have never had an issue with scenery not installing in this manner but with one scenery that didn't work and the developer failed to respond I obtained a refund via SimMarket. Also check the developer's website / Facebook or any other contact methods such as a Discord server. I've never heard of Alfa Delta so it is possible they have gone out of business.

I bought this product 2022 and seem to have reinstalled it last December 2024 according to the Windows Apps list. I tried the installer today for you. It could not connect to the server too. So it's not a wrong serial. This software is not installable at the moment. Strange their products are beeing sold until today. 

P.S. The scenery does not display any objects, like buildings or clutter. The placement file is not in the scenery directory also not in my backup. So this seems some kind of copy protection and not working when the server is down or I have deleted it by starting the installer. What shall i say, never buy from Alfa Delta Simulations.

When traveling to the supplied SimMarket link I noticed two things.

  1. There's a YouTube Video in the landing page that no longer exists.
  2. The dev's website times out with an error, probably certificate related.

Which sadly point to a dev who has dropped the ball and abandoned play...

Not so cheery... :huh:

I tried again today. Disabled AV and Firewall, no contact. So uninstalled it and deleted the remaining files in the folder. I made a ticket at Simmarket and hope, they call alfa delta, to ask what happened or at least kick them out.

You're probably not going to hear from them. I sent an email to them about a week ago and never heard from them. Opened a ticket at Simmarket and they sent a email to them about 4 days ago. Still no response from Alpha Delta Simulations.
