9070 XT Settings

Featured Replies

Anyone using the 9070 XT in MSFS? I am looking for what settings to use. Coming from nVidia its all greek to me, Adrenaline etc

Chris Chiozza

Leave adrenaline alone, you’ll waste hours in there for very little reward. Just configure MSFS to an fps that’s acceptable to you.

How has it been for you running either sim? Any hints or suggestions.?

Nothing specific I was really asking about any thing related to AMD card. As I said there are a handful of tweaks in using nVidia and was just asking. Having used it so far it seems very very smooth relative to my nVidia 3080 and not just FPS but less micro stutters.

Ok no problem I will have to apologize to @Lucky38i because i assumed that you wanted to configure something specific. In general adrenaline can be ignored and you can sim as normal.

However, if you want to set up Fluid motion frames (Framegen) for MSFS2020 or lock the framerate for a specific game or do a performance overlay to see your framerate, vram usage microstutter readings.... ect let me know and ill walk you through it.

The guiding principle to get the features to work in adrenaline is to do it within the specific game profile for that detected game and not do it with the global settings.

You can also undervolt this card to an extent but i cant help you there .. silicon lottery, individual systems and all that.

But if you need anything else specific pm me and ill be glad to help.

cheers

Fantastic, Thank You! One thing I have not figured out is vsync because 2024 does not work and I was looking for something outside the sim to lock it. That's how I did in NV control panel. Not a huge deal but it is annoying. I do have some undervolt videos to try out. Looks interesting. I bought a 5070TI and was just underwhelmed with it, did worse than my 3080. Very confusing. So really just trying to get used to the 9070XT and tweak it as best I can. Just a learning curve. Thanks again...

I currently main 2020, I have mostly everything on high and fly in VR. FPS is acceptable to me, I bump up OLOD a bit to reduce pop in a bit. My only tip is OLOD and TLOD can adversely effect fps but can improve fidelity and draw distance.

I can’t comment on 24 just yet.

Not sure what monitor you have, but I recommend one that is FreeSync compatible and connected with DisplayPort. Set it in Windows to its maximum refresh.

In Adrenalin, make sure 'SmartAccess Memory' and 'FreeSync Premium' are enabled. I Ieave everything else turned off in Adrenalin (FSR, AFMF, RSR, etc.) as I find none of it works anywhere near as well as the Lossless Scaling app in adaptive mode set to my monitor's refresh rate of 165 Mhz. I sometimes use Chill to limit frames if I don't need them to quiet down the GPU.

In the sim, disable Vsync, use TAA, set 100% refresh. There is absolutely no screen tearing on my setup.

When SU2 is released, I'll try FSR 3 in 2024 to see how it compares to Lossless Scaling.

i have 9070, 5800x3d and 64 gb ram. I put in msfs 2024 mostly ultra. When i put in beta, fsr3 on and frame gen, and in adrenalin fsr4 super reso on and fluid motion frames on, i get 150-200 fps in msfs 2024. It is smooth as silk, but i have textures at low. Beta eats my 16 gb vram for lunch, if i put textures to high.

Put , when in game, press alt + R, to open adrenalin software . In gaming tab super resolution on and fluid motion frames on. Formerly you have to put fsr 3 on in game settings and frame gen.

In beta stutters may occur when flying to major hubs that are handcrafted. Remember to put texture resolution to low in game.

Thanks everyone for the help Fantastic. That was what I needed. I will give it go. I am on a 65" sony 120hz variable refresh HDMI, there is not a DP plug. Still adjusting though. Again thanks very much for the help.

Here are my settings:

1) Using Optiscaler to get FSR4 in MSFS2024.  Does it work, I have no idea.  Maybe turning on Super Resolution in Adrenalin is better ?

The instructions I am using for Optiscaler are here:

2) I have enabled FSR3 in MSFS2024 Beta but using the frame gen from Adrenalin.

3) V-sync is off and I have some tearing when moving around.

4) I tried to limit the frames to half my screen but it really did not work as well as unlimited with frame gen.

5) I am using AutoFPS which helps a lot and I really don't notice a downgrade in visuals.

6) My settings are a mix of Ultra (buildings) and high, with some things turned off or low (fauna).

Opti scaler is on my list next. I have not tried it. Can you limit your frames with Adrenalin? I am still tweaking but it is getting better than NV hand down. I dont play other games anyway. The ray trace is fantastic for shadows.

Yes you can limit your frames with Adrenalin.

Go to the games tab. You should see the sim there.

Select the sim then select Radeon Chill

Then put the framerate you want to lock the game to in both "fields/Boxes" .. To do a lock both numbers must be the same.

When you start the sim you should see a pop up that states Radeon Chill is enabled with a green dot to indicate it is enabled.

Let me know if you run into any issues with the above.
