July 2, 2025Jul 2 FlyTampa were looking at EGLL a while back, but I'm not sure that will go ahead which will be a shame.
July 2, 2025Jul 2 Luton is a pig of an airport with inadequate taxi-ways and an overload of regular traffic as it's a major UK base for Easyjet. If you want an underused airport capable of handing big jets, then you could try East Midlands Airport EGNX. Busier at night than during the day as a big cargo airport but with a passenger terminal and car parks too. The M1 motorway is right is nearby so it's just an hour down the road to Silverstone, which is a word not allowed sight easier than dragging your VIP's a quarter of the way around the M25 before you even start. https://contrail.shop/products/egnx-east-midlands-airport-msfs?bg_ref=ivhBwCq6Mv
July 2, 2025Jul 2 Oh and I forgot... you can do a few practice laps at the Donington Park circuit while your are waiting. It's just over the fence an was at one time slated to host the British GP but they ran out of money. https://www.donington-park.co.uk/

Who uses cars? VIP's are flown in by H165 Helicopter. 😉

July 2, 2025Jul 2 Author Just landed at ini EGLL, performance was fine, London city from 2500 ft looked great on approach and airport detail seems fine, not the best but certainly a good rendition. My big issue are the objects popping in/out like signs, parked cars etc. One of the worst I have seen from that perspective. My settings are TLOD 385 OLOD 185 and even DD KEWR isn't this bad. Thanks for all of the suggestions and feedback everyone! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

July 3, 2025Jul 3 Yes, I do notice the cars popping into view in that car park just short of the runway 27R threshold. I should have mentioned that to them when I sent my report about the misaligned runway centreline markings! That's why you don't fly into Heathrow when you want to go to Silverstone as a VIP. Privat Jet to the nearest suitable airport, Cranfield being an option and then Heli transfer. That's at least what I would try to do if I were a millionaiire and into watching F1 live at a circuit. Neither is the case though. 😉
