C185 GTN integration

Featured Replies

If you have the TDS GTNXi and find the dual GTN integration a bit much for the C185, you try this variant with a single GTN750Xi in the stack.

Credit to @marcfsx for the original integration mod!

Downside is that you do lose the NAV2 radio..

I would go for a version that only has the GTN650 installed. For these type of older trainer aircraft a full blown 750 is a bit much for my taste.

And I'm not even an anlogue fetishist. 😉

I agree that would be a better fit, but adjusting the NAV frequency on the 650 is cumbersome, compared to the 750..

And I do like the big map 🙂

^^This. Those GTN 750 units get slammed in almost every plane. Not really true to life as I see it. I saw the upcoming Inibuilds Cessna 406 has an option for a single GTN 650. I wish more GA aircraft had this.

Cheers, Bert

@marcfsx has shown that these kind of mods are now possible, and someone with the right skillset, should be able to create the exact avionics stack that you want.

Yes, Thank you for posting this and thank you @marcfsx for creating. I was finally able to get the C185 with the GNS430 and KAP140 working properly. The autopilot heading and heading indicator bug were always off. This mod provided the missing piece of the puzzle for me.

Do you happen to know if this was created with the in game package tool/creator or just from scratch? I've just been modifying files and wondering if I should be using the in game package tool/creator. A lot of restarting the sim and trying to avoid that.

I have been trying to get in touch with marcfsx to ask the exact same question.. My mods are made by tinkering with his config files.

Guilty as charged. 😧

But not WW2 fighters of course. 😁
