September 2, 2025Sep 2 MSFS 2024 supposedly has better optimization compared to MSFS 2020. However, I'm getting poor graphic performance in MSFS 2024 (first picture) when compared to MSFS 2020 (2nd picture). Is anyone else having the same issue? Are there any benchmark tests to compare both? The two pictures below are from the cockpit of the default aircraft in MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020, the JMB VL3. MSFS 2024: MSFS 2020:
September 2, 2025Sep 2 Something is off.. the props in 2024 are at least as good as 2020. What you're seeing is not normal. Any addons that might be interfering? 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
September 2, 2025Sep 2 Yes, I fly mostly props and have never seen anything like this in 2024. I do not fly defaults very much but I do suspect something is interfering on your end. MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.
September 2, 2025Sep 2 None of my payware prop planes look anything like this. Its more than likely a difference in your settings. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
September 2, 2025Sep 2 Author Hmmm.... I changed the "Motion Blur" in Settings, General, Graphics, Global Rendering Capability to "Off" and restarted MSFS 2024, but the change was barely noticeable. It was pretty much the same, unchanged. The previous setting was "Medium" which was automatically set by MSFS during the installation of the sim. I don't have this JMB VL3 prop problem in MSFS 2020 on the same hardware. I also compared using the default Cessna 172 in MSFS 2024 and this is what I get below. No graphic issues with the spinning propeller. It's much better than in the JMB VL3. RPM in the Cessna was about 1500 (it was like 1900 in the JMB).

I don't have too many addons in my Community folder. Basically, just addon planes eg. Dukes, TBM, FSR500, etc. and a few small sceneries. I don't have liveries installed. If the issue is addons it should like also affect other planes but it's not doing that.

September 2, 2025Sep 2 Author I temporarily renamed my MSFS 2024 Community folder, restarted the sim, and created a 20 second video of the prop issue. Again, this problem does not exist in the same aircraft in MSFS 2020.

Maybe a new bug, but i don't fly this plane much.. last time i flew it some months ago i remember it being ok.. I have a G-Sync 27-inch Dell monitor, and a 3060-ti (8 GB) GPU. Nvidia driver is version 546.33 with Windows 10, 32 GB RAM and 1 TB of free space in a Samsung NVMe drive. These run MSFS 2024 and work ok. Anti-virus is WIndows Security. Other default aircraft in MSFS 2024 seem to work ok too (but I haven't checked them all).

Applying small minute rudder adjustments and it immediately feels like it wants to fly sideways too.

September 2, 2025Sep 2 I wonder if it is related to anti aliasing? Mine looked different in TAA to how they look in DLSS quality and different again in DLSS DLAA. I guess they might also be affected by framegen if you use it. As far as I recall it did look better in msfs 2000 Edited September 2, 2025Sep 2 by cianpars Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Yes, that appears to be the case. The link was posted Feb 19, and it is now Sept 2 or 6 months later. I'm wondering why MS/ Asobo didn't fix what appears to be a bug before releasing SU3. Anyone here with high-end equipment (7xxx, 4xxx, 5xxx GPUs or fast RAM) care to do some tests? The aircraft is the default JMB VL3. P.S. I noticed you have the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers. I have the same set. Fantastic speakers. The bass is out of this world. Bought it on sale for less than U$100. It's better than the 100's of U$ it cost me to buy two different sets of Bose speakers bought previously.
