Look at the ground textures in SU4 vs SU3. The SU4 textures are blurry and look like complete junk until they load in where as the textures in SU3 look fine all the way in. Didn't notice that, good catch... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

I just really hope that we aren't about to find SU4 makes visual sacrifices in the name of performance and is masked behind Asobo saying they made "significant improvements". I'm all about performance gains, but that was a bit disappointing. At 4:09 you can see the stutter where it all pops in to the regular textures. I hope you are right and the gains are truly from better GPU utilization and the new coding techniques opposed to being at the cost of visual fidelity. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
October 12, 2025Oct 12 Author If you say so. But I don't see it. I blow up the image you posted. If someone asks me which shows more fine detail. Then I answer, neither is much improved compared to the other. But if I must choose, then I prefer the image on the right (su4) by a tiny bit. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Look at the runway edges and the hold short lines for example... I didn't see it at first either to be fair probably because I was watching his FPS and Frame Time numbers... That still image I posted, excluding the performance gains that are shown, you see better visual detail on the image to the right compared to the left?? I will say, in all fairness to SU4, I haven't read of others complaining of this on the official forums. It could truly be this users setup that caused this. I'm just simply pointing it out as an observation. Runway markings, cracks, they're almost all missing in the SU4 image here compared to SU3. Mine don't look like that on su4 though. Su3 vs 4 are the same textures on my machine. October 12, 2025Oct 12 Author To my eyes, there are red squares on part of the image on the left and a line from that to a square on a different area on the right. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. The boxes aren’t meant to be pixel-perfect comparisons... they’re highlighting general areas where the quality difference is obvious. The issue is still clear regardless of the exact placement. If you genuinely think the image on the right looks better, you might want to get your monitor or your eyes checked. With that said, I'll reiterate that this is the first I'm seeing of this in SU4. Maybe it was just a bad moment of the scenery loading in. At 4:09 you can even see the stutter from where the scenery textures load in correctly. I'm just pointing it out since this video was posted to make a comparison point... so I'm doing just that, comparing.
