I will say, in all fairness to SU4, I haven't read of others complaining of this on the official forums. It could truly be this users setup that caused this. I'm just simply pointing it out as an observation. Yes it's as clear as day in that comparison, could be a ton of reasons why it happened (server load at the time, users cache not loading quick enough, an actual regression by Asobo etc etc) which is why these comparison videos are hard to rely on when there's so many variables at play. Even when doing simple benchmarks in both 2020 & 2024 I've seen two identical flights look totally different, which is why it's hard to come to any sort of a conclusion. I think with SU4 beta the optimisation techniques have worked without going backwards (regression tactics) like what Asobo have done in the past, that's my experience anyway. That would make sense based on Asobo's description of what they've optimized, i.e. moving computations from the main thread into separate threads. That should speed up the computations without changing the result (assuming, of course, that there aren't other additional optimizations that do sacrifice visual quality for speed). October 13, 2025Oct 13 SU4 beta has been a dream for me. Running at 1080p 27", G-Sync enabled, FG2x @120fps, most eye-candy ultra, live traffic, not a single stutter, incredibly smooth from start to shut-down. October 13, 2025Oct 13 Do you all mean that after the latest MSFS 2024 update, performance on the same PC is actually better in 2024 than in 2020? Is it time to switch to 2024? I ask because I don’t have the most powerful PC, and I’d like to hear your experiences. Thanks

Thanks Hard for me to say as in 2020 I use DX11 so in 2024 it's DX12 only, but in the air with similar settings it's pretty close I would say, which is good.
