FS2024 Mainthread existencial question...

So far TLOD at 100 does help but I just can't stand the blurry ground textures at 4k and always put it back to 200, we can't have it all, don't we? hahaha. This performance issue is the only one holding me back using 2024 entirely. Let's see when SU5 shows up.

  • TLOD adjustments are a tempo fix at best and your performance will still tank albeit more slowly.. the ultimate fix has to come from Asobo

  • Hopefully Asobo fixes the issue soon because this is not acceptable at all

  • Maybe I have the same issue too, can you please tell me how are your transitions of your views to overhead or pedestal or pax wing views? are smooth or you see a great frames drop (like my case)? and

LOD 150 is my max but I only have a 3060ti.

Dynamic mode fixes mostly all MSFS glitches for me.

Dynamic mode on turns too blurry my ground textures, so is a no go for me. I just have to test AutoFPS to see if does help as many report good results. The thing is having the hardware, why we need to use under the hood tricks for making the sim fluid, like @Aboodyking said, the ultimate fix has to come from Asobo.

If ground textures are a major concern for you which I guess it is.. the. Autofps will do the same as dynamic settings and while your performance tanks Autofps will try to save the day by lowering the TLOD even more and when the performance tanks more autofps will also tank your visuals and it’s just a never ending cycle unless Asobo intervenes

Then is a no go for AutoFPS I guess. Blurry textures are awful for me, I can stand lower frames a bit but I won't cede crisp ground textures if I'm using 4k.

Realistically, we should be able to use a TLOD of 200, it is a medium setting, after all.

I agree it’s a sim thing.

For me, the stutters started in SU2 beta 1.4xx. They remained through SU3 and were cured temporarily in SU4 beta 1 and 2, then came back in the later betas and to release.

It is strange that it doesn’t affect everyone but it’s a real problem for those with it.

What is the dynamic mode target frame at?  Mine is 1/2 of 180 90 but no sure if it gets that low with FSR3.

I don't have blurry issues.  My community folder is empty.

do you have a gsync monitor?

on LG C1 I ending up turning off gsync completely and only using vsync with FG at 3x and main thread issues were gone.

That's an interesting way of doing it.

I have a Benq 32" 4K monitor with G-SYNC/FreeSync compatibility. It is a 60Hz max monitor.

I can achieve raw frame rates of 35 to 50 FPS dependant on what I'm doing, but mainly I'm in the Fenix at a major airport.

I'll try locking the Frame rate to 30 and FG'ing 2X with Gsync disabled
