January 20Jan 20 I upgraded to MSFS 2024 for my desktop and now use MSFS 2020 in my laptop. I just found out that buying the Citation X for MSFS 2024 will not allow me to use it in MSFS 2020! Here's a big BUT --if I bought MSFS 2020, I can also use it in MSFS 2024. It absolutely DOESN'T make sense! Don't make the same mistake I did. I'm hoping there's a solution that will allow me to use Citation X in MSFS 2020 also. Flightfx, please help.
January 20Jan 20 Try 2024 on your laptop. Many people are surprised to find that it works better than 2020 on the same hardware. It’s not 100% guaranteed, but I would absolutely try it out and see. You might be lucky! 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

It’s not 100% guaranteed, but I would absolutely try it out and see. You might be lucky! Thank you for the quick reply. BUT, the minimum requirements are different: MSFS 2020: CPU Ryzen 3 1200 /i5-4460, GPU: RX 570 / GTX 770, RAM: 8 GB. MSFS 2024: CPU Ryzen 5 1600 /i7-6800K, GPU: RX 5700 / GTX 970, RAM: 16 GB. Additionally, I have add-ons that work only in MSFS 2020. Examples. 1. Perfect Flight's "Crossing the World" 2. SoFly's "Explore West Coast US" 3. FSDreamTeam's "Switzerland Mesh"
January 20Jan 20 Sure, but what do you have to lose by trying? I mean, I’m not saying uninstall 2020, just to try 2024. But of course your choice. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

That makes sense then, I guess if flightfx doesn’t help you’re kinda stuck. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

As I recall, there's a delay--maybe a day or so, for the purchase on one platform to flow over to the other in the marketplace. January 20Jan 20 Your title is misleading! Nothing wrong with the CitationX! I purchased in 2024 and I have it in 2020. There's nothing wrong with the Citation X. One of the best addons. I purchased it for 2024 and have it available in both sims. So is the HJet, P180 and the Vision Jet. Thank you for the link. Unfortunately, the link assumes that "you" bought the Citation X in 2020 and it's not transferring over to 2024. My issue is the opposite of that. I bought it in 2024 and it's not available in 2020. Nonetheless, I filled and completed the form providing all information requested. However, I did not get an email confirmation or some other form of acknowledgement that they received the form. Hopefully, they received the form, created a support ticket, and the issue gets resolved for me.

The first thing you encounter in the dialogue is a checkbox that asks if you did the free marketplace upgrade, which applies if you buy the 2020 version and then upgrade to 2024. But that's just one of the ways to resolve the crossover issue, and further down the dialgue it asks for info to correct the issue either way. I am certain that they intend all buyers of either version to get both. I'm also sure it's a PIA for them trying to fit the crossover round peg into the marketplace square hole, but I know at least a half dozen folks that bought the 2024 version and who did receive the 2020 version, albeit after a delay, and in a few cases after further engagement with FlightFX. Flightfx, please help. “Friendly” advice: always try to contact the developer FIRST before coming in to a 3rd party forum and spreading ill will. in the very few cases where I’ve needed support around a purchase or platform license, either a support ticket or question on the devs discord has brought prompt attention and resolution. If you do decide to come here, at least frame your problem in the form of a request for advice or help. In terms of these 2024 vs 2020 licenses, DO beware that a steadily increasing number of developers are NOT back porting for v2020. So ensure you have your dual platform licensing confirmed before purchasing in the future. Edited January 21Jan 21 by UrgentSiesta
