Is this the party to whom I am speaking? (Always say no)

(It could be really expensive if you say yes)

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Unless it is from someone in my contacts list, I simply let calls go to voice mail.  If it is a real call, they will leave a message and I can return the call.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

My phone sits on an end table in my living room and seldom goes anyplace.   If I don't know the person who is calling me or recognize a voice I simply hang up.  The only time I carry it with me is when I have a doctor appointment so I can call the warehouse and ask them to come and get me when it's over since I no longer have a car.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

👍Noel, I'm sure you remember better than almost all of us; the good old days before cell phones when you could actually get the heck away from people, and no Robo Calls.  You could go camping and not a soul could reach you, just the occasional bear meandering through your campsite, more welcome than a phone call from your supervisor at work.

Yes Tom, I remember those days.

I recall a morning my supervisor came into the break room.  He was feeling important because our manager had given him a pager to wear on his belt.  It made him feel important until  told him that pager turned him from an 8 hour a day employee but a 24 hour a day employee.

If I don't recognize the Phone Number on the screen, it doesn't get answered, period.

If it is from someone I happen to know and they don't exercise the common courtesy to leave me a Voicemail, then it's not important enough for me to return the call.
