KPBI - Verticalsim vs. Glideslope

Featured Replies

Hi All - As the title says, I’m curious as to whether anyone has compared these two. I have the Glideslope KPBI, and I see that the Verticalsim KPBi is on sale now at Simmarket. I’m curious as to whether anyone can recommend if it’s worth the upgrade to the Verticalsim KPBI.

Cheers, Pete

Reviews on contrail say Verticalsim KPBI is one of his best sceneries. And since he's already very good on average, I guess you can't go wrong with Verticalsim, if you fly there more often

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Pete,

Glidescope is the rebranded BMWorld/AMSim that got into all sorts of shenanigan a while back.

Up to you, but I certainly would not buy from them.

chatgpt  mirror mirror on the wall, who now is the fairest one of all?

For Palm Beach International Airport (KPBI) in Microsoft Flight Simulator, the best scenery right now is widely considered the Verticalsim version. Here’s the main options and which one you should pick 👇

🥇 Best Overall: Verticalsim KPBI

Developer: Verticalsim

Why it’s the best:

  • Extremely detailed terminal buildings and airport objects
  • Accurate runway, taxiway, and apron layout
  • High-resolution ground textures and lighting
  • Very well optimized for performance (good FPS)
  • Built for both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024

Many simmers say it’s the most realistic KPBI available, with authentic ramp layouts and detailed surroundings.

👉 If you only buy one KPBI scenery, this is the one to get.

🥈 Alternative: Glideslope Pro KPBI

Developer: Glideslope Pro (formerly BMWorld / AmSim)

Features:

  • Custom high-resolution ground textures
  • Animated jetways
  • Fully modeled airport buildings
  • Detailed ground markings and lighting

✔ Good detail
Slightly older and less optimized compared to Verticalsim.

very nice.

I'm pretty happy with the VerticalSim KBOI scenery purchased from the MP. Since you all were talking about VerticalSim I just bought their KPVU Provo UT scenery on MP.

BTW, KPBI has a 5 star rating there.

I have just about every Verticalsim airport, and they are all very good. I bought the AmSim (Glideslope) KPBI over a year ago, and it is pretty good. I was just curious if it was worth buying the Verticalsim KPBI if I already have the Glideslope one.

Oh yeah, I’m aware of the history. I had all of my airports transferred after the rebranding, and it was seamless. I imagine they’ll update the PBI as they have many of the others, and I have almost every Glideslope airport. It’s obviously a minuscule purchase, but I’d hate to replace a perfectly good airport.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. I’ll pick it up since at $13 it’s a steal.

how is this not personal experience when chatgpt checks more reviews than just a  handful opinions here in a single thread and it explains in detail (unlike posters here) why one is better than the other, instead of just saying "I have both".

it also lists its sources.

chatgpt doesn'tuse AI to compare 2 products, it runs through a lot more opinions and forums than just a few responders on a single avsim thread.

It’s all good. I was more looking for what our Avsim folks were experiencing. I did look at a lot of online stuff, but I trust the guys in this group. I use Copilot and Chatgpt also, but just wanted some opinions from the group. Of course, it’s not a massive purchase, but I never like to buy the same airport twice unless there’s a compelling reason to do so.

Cheers, Pete
