March 27Mar 27 Howdy everyone, Have been chipping away at this since the Crescent City project. KACV has airline service and I used to do cross-country practice flights to there long ago. Have seen this one mentioned as a need on other forums, so will try to have a go at it. A little tough to get good photo resources, but making some progress. Thankfully Humboldt County has a lot of documents available, so I may be able to fill some gaps.
March 27Mar 27 Excellent! I took a few pics when I was there last with the goal of doing this airport after I got done with O33 over on the Samoa peninsula, but I never got around to it. Would be happy to send you what I have. "That's what" - She
March 27Mar 27 Well not as much as I thought I had, but time wasn't on my side on this trip. Maybe something useful here, despite the typical weather. "That's what" - She

Would be happy to send you what I have. Thank you much! Every little bit helps. It's pretty hard to find pics of the runway 14 end of the field, but you have several. Now I know there should be an EMAS and small horse fence as well. Your pic also showed me I have the ARFF building reversed...oops 😅 One of the things I am struggling with is Asobo and GAYA don't have any cypress tree objects, so I might have to make some..
March 31Mar 31 Author Making a lot of progress, and improved some of the buildings. I even added the Holiday Inn Express nearby. The solar farm was a challenge due to elevation issues. This airport is turning out to be a lot of fun, but there's a lot of fine tuning to do still. Need to find a replacement green fence, because the default Asobo one is not great...! Question for you guys: in pic 2 and 7 there is a grove of trees near the terminal parking area. According to my research, the county has been clearing all of the trees in that area over the last year. I could delete them to be accurate, but there is no new ortho for the area, so I would have to cover it all up with a dirt polygon. Please let me know if it's better to just leave the trees? March 31Mar 31 Well, I say leave the trees...simply because I like trees 😁 I have no real-life experience with this airport though, so take my scientific input with a large grain of salt 😉 AMD Ryzen 9900X3D & ASUS X870E Gaming Plus MB, w/64 Gb GSkill DDR5 RAM, PNY RTX 5090 GPU, lots of SSD's and M.2 drives, HAVN Case, Virpil VPC Panels 2 and 3, Virpil Constellation Alpha Stick, Virpil Rotor TCS Plus w/ Hawk-60 Collective grip, TM TCA Yoke Boeing Edition, TM HOTAS A-10 and F/A-18 Sticks and TM TPR Rudder pedals. Currently on Win11

Even if I no longer live in that area of the world and selfishly want it to live up to my memories. Looking great!! "That's what" - She
April 1Apr 1 Author Thanks for the input guys, the trees stay! One of the nice things about MSFS is we can keep our sim world a little prettier than RL if we want to.
April 1Apr 1 Getting excited for this one. It's gonna be SO COOL - THANK YOU!!!!!! Really glad you're including the USCG station and hopefully there will be helipads as well as regular heli parking for those of us who like to start our helis from cold & dark. What's really slick is that Taog's Hangar has been working on a Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin including the USCG MH-65 variant, which is what they fly out of KACV, and it appears to be getting close to release. When I was in Eureka taking the photos in my post above, I also visited O33, Samoa Field and had the good fortune to spot a USCG MH-65 doing a training flight, several touch-n-goes, hover practice and even an autorotation. It's gonna be super bitchin' to fly that bird out of your airfield, go down to the Samoa peninsula and do the same thing! Edited April 1Apr 1 by Stoopy "That's what" - She

Thanks very much, glad you enjoy! Not familiar with O69 as I have never flown in there. Love KSTS but it might be a very large project, pretty complicated field. I also need to check if any payware developers are working on it, because it has been in demand for awhile. I was going to do KCIC next, but payware studio Spinoza just released a wonderful version of it. Thinking about doing KPRB or KOAR next, after the Moffett Field side project.

Enjoy! I took a bit more time to get the package release ready because the terrain mods to improve the bluff and beach area were a pain in the butt... April 11Apr 11 Thank you so much for this! You've created an absolute GEM for the community. Had a quick flight around and despite the real weather being a typical spring morning - adding to the realism for sure - it looks absolutely phenomenal, and a great place to stopover on flights up and down the coast. Lots of cool little details. It's gonna be a lot of fun stuffing the little PMDG 737-600 onto RWY32 there.... Definitely appreciate the accommodations as well!
