Isn't life and consciousness an incredible thing?

Featured Replies

Yes, evidence suggests migratory birds like European robins use quantum entanglement within their eyes to navigate by detecting Earth's magnetic field. This "quantum compass" mechanism involves light-sensitive proteins called cryptochromes, which create entangled electrons that react to magnetic field lines.

I think things like this are the next great field in science....finding out how these things work and how we can emulate them or make new things based on these discoveries.

I saw an article the other day about some new crystalline structure they found in a nuclear-bomb-created rock. They said it required intense heat and pressure to make this structure. Can you imagine if we could create new materials based on these discoveries? Like super-strong and lightweight alloys, etc. etc. and as for the birds, I cannot imagine the possibilities with light-sensitive proteins.

We only think we know a lot about nature and science. They probably said that during the time of Copernicus, too.

Quantum entanglement? Is that what makes me trip when I'm out for my morning walk? Nah! That's tanglefoot!

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

One guy in this forum has a signature saying that he easily tricks birds into thinking he has a swimming pool in his back yard.

Martin, if we delve too far into this we might discover that some of the lower life forms are actually smarter than we are. I've suspected this for a long time. So have you when it comes to cats.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Yeah, would you like to live in the vicinity of were they would crank out all these new materials? NIMBY 🤣. Ooops, there goes the neighborhood 🙈
