Hot and 😓 sweaty

I have a floor mounted fan pointed directly at the front of my computer to help it with cooling and my CPU is still 94C running MSFS according to "Core Temp" app.

Meanwhile I have some "menopause" fans around my neck 😆

I'm definitely built for a cold climate - which is worrying since it's only May!

My PC was doing okay when I was playing BF6 earlier. Runs nice and cool.

Can't say the same for me, Im very sweaty. 😁

As usual people from warmer countries don't get why the heat is more uncomfortable in the British Isles.

But, "It's a dry heat". That's what they say in the SoCal deserts!

Well, here in Roswell the temperature is 95F and the RH is 22%. Very comfortable. But I'm a desert rat. I keep my room temp at 80F. I like the outdoor temps to range from 100F to about 115F. Just drink lots of water.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Mind over matter. Feel the coolness here:

@Mike A I used to live out in the Richmond District for many years! 22nd Ave and Geary, 28th Ave and Cabrillo
and heard the fog horns all day long during the summer.

@birdguy I know you didn't change your name to Moel to protect the innocent, so I fixed it for you! 😉

I’m near Lakeshore Plaza and before my hearing went south, if I woke up in the early AM hours I could sometimes hear the fog horn faintly, very relaxing. On the other hand, the MP barracks at the Presidio was across the street from the G. G. Bridge toll plaza and they would complain about trying to sleep during foggy nights: BWWWAAAAAAAAAH!!!!…………………………..BWWWAAAAAAAAA!!!!…………………………..BWWWAAAAAAAAA!!!!”

I remember those sounds as a boy growing up in San Francisco. We lived in the Russian Hill district; Larkin Street between Jackson and Broadway. Good Lord! That was 80 years ago!

We've been in the mid-high 70s(24-26C) here for a while now. Low 80s(27-29C) is pretty normal for this area in late May and early June, so a bit cooler than usual.

Our relatives in Italy are in a heat wave as well right now, with a high of 92F(33C) in northern and central Italy today and high 80s(30C) for the next week or so.

Of course, we all have air conditioning here in the States, whereas many Europeans don't have it, making these high temps more uncomfortable, especially for the Brits who aren't used to the heat.

29C at 74% humidity here earlier, it's easing off though. Just touching "red" on the "web bulb global temperature" chart

Air con in shops and offices has always been a thing but not in houses. It is becoming a thing now, though, to switch to air conditioning in homes.

It's the humidity that's the issue, makes it harder to sweat. I'm sitting here with the doors and windows open tapping on my phone and my shirt has some impresive sweat patches.

Humidity is 60% at the moment..

The cat, of course, is spark out in cat dreamland.

You probably wouldn't like the weather where I'm at. Humidity here is almost always over 50% and usually around 65-80%. We're at 1,000ft(305m) altitude here and adjacent to the Cumberland plateau, which helps to keep the temps a little lower than areas further west like Nashville. Doesn't help with the humidity, though.

The air conditioning keeps the humidity lower in the house, but step outside and it hits you.

Not nearly so bad as where we used to live in southern Alabama, though. Really hot and humid down there.

80% is high. We occasionally got that high in Guernsey. 74% yesterday in Jersey.

Indonesia is the place for consistently high humidity, apparently..
