Isn't Jersey where the TV series Bergerac was set? I liked that show.

Yes. I never watched it. I believe there's a rebooted series now on TV. Season 2. No idea if it's any good.

Did you watch that when you were stationed in the UK, or was it available in the US?

First time this species has been found here, a few have been found washed up on the beach in the UK.

"A large endangered shark died after it washed up on a Jersey beach.

The Government of Jersey's Marine Resources department said it received reports the shark, which was 4.3m (14ft) long and weighed 597kg (1,316lbs), had been found at Greve D'Azette on Sunday.

It said the animal, identified as a smalltooth sand tiger shark - which is on the IUCN Red List, external - was "showing small signs of life" but was unable to be revived. It was later taken away by the incoming tide.

The shark, the first of its species to be found in Jersey since records began, washed up again at the beach on Monday and was taken away for a post-mortem examination, which showed "no obvious signs" of cause of death, officials said"

I watched it on public television here in the U.S. back in the 80s.

I didn't watch too much TV when I was stationed in the UK. I do remember watching a few episodes of a show called Eastenders and another show with a young Catherine Zeta Jones but I don't remember the name.

The UK show you are likely thinking of is The Darling Buds of May, although it actually aired in the early 1990s (1991–1993) rather than the 1980s

Oh Dave, you poor boy. Did you require an antidepressant after watching it? 😁

Yeah, I must have been really bored, or maybe drunk, at the time. I only recall watching it a few times and don't remember anything about the show, so it must have been pretty forgettable.
