Second After Citation X

I have never understood the love the Learjet 35 gets.
To me its not even close to the other ones mentioned here.

It would be a step down from the Citation X . Would not be my choice for a second Bizjet.

I seem to be in the minority however.

To me the L35 is so easy to jump in and blast off. No need to do anything but start the engines and release the brakes! Use a GTN750 for nav if you want to or just hand fly your clearance. So much fun compared to managing a computer that does all the flying. I also love the C750 but the Lear is a great diversion.

FSReborn Phenom! I think the Phenom is the best business jet available in the sim for sure

The sovereign is notably better, not to mention the Flysimware L35A

I'm not here to knock the Learjet, it's a great addon and it's a great plane, but I suspect the crossover between people who enjoy these more modern business jets and the Learjet 35 is quite small. It's such a completely different flying experience that I think just because you enjoy the Citation does not mean you'll enjoy the Learjet and vice versa.

Now the upcoming Learjet 45 from Justflight would be a different story, but I don't know how far out that is. Given Justflight's pace of development I doubt it'll be this year.

I may be being presumptuous, but I am a real pilot. I wonder if pilots IRL enjoy the basic planes like the Lear and the new Falcon 50 more than sim-only pilots? I do fly the 750 and Longitude quite a bit, but really enjoy the old, pre-Garmin planes (although I do like having the GTN750 on the Lear 35). I even enjoy the C750 with its Primus avionics better than any plane with a G3000 or G5000. That said, in real life, I would love to fly with a G5000 but not in the sim.

I definitely think so - I'm hardly a jet pilot, just a PPL IR, but even that knowledge makes the old school steam gauge ops MUCH more approachable. Before I had my rating it was completely daunting to fly a plane without any kind of map or situational awareness help.

I can agree with that overall, but I do genuinely enjoy the Garmin Cockpits à la the Longitude & Phenom. I especially enjoy the enhanced SA that the Garmin Gx000’s give over steam gauges

But for me, it comes down to standardization, simplicity, and a lack of free time to sim as much as I’d like

Steam gauges are universal by design and have been installed in every single type of aircraft & addon.

The Gx000’s are extremely common in MSFS, and are fairly easy to operate considering their depth.

And that’s kind of as far as I really want to maintain proficiency.

The proprietary avionics & nav suites in other aircraft like the airliners, or the Garmin alternatives in various GA aircraft are fine. But they each have their own methodologies and I just don’t care to become proficient other than the basic PFD & EICAS views.

TBH, I spend a LOT of time learning & operating constantly changing complex software suites for a living, so my desire to do the same in my free time is quite low 😁
