New Cessna 525 Torquesim
One of the best. No need to hesitate on buying any of their planes.

Thranda Pilatus PC-12 DGS Series released
I love the TBM but not a fan of the G1000 in the sims. Much prefer the Collins in the PC12.

SimWorks Studios Pilatus PC-12 released
I finally was able to setup beta and reverse! I guess it was there all the time but it was just not setup right. Just reset and mapped my bravo quadrant from scratch - not fun- but it worked. Now I get normal throttle action for power, beta and reverse. Well all except now my POV hat switch doesn't work at all lol. Using the Asobo interface to program controls is the most abusive and un-intuitive setup I have ever experienced. Any tips to get my POV working again are welcome...

SimWorks Studios Pilatus PC-12 released
I’ll have to look into it. I’ve tried a few times on my Bravo. I guess I’m doing something wrong. Maybe SWS need to have clear instructions on setting up the throttles, as other venders have done. But- I have to say the plane is great to fly since day one - even with a few issues.

SimWorks Studios Pilatus PC-12 released
No PIC time on a PT6 turbine, no, just going by the other highly regarded models in XP11, that I’ve been flying for a few years now, TBM850, Kodiak, King Air 350, and MU-2. So as far as the lag feeling extreme, I can’t say how real it is, but beta and reverse don’t seem to exist at all. I haven’t flown the SWS Kodiak in a long time but I thought reverse works on that. Maybe it’s Asobo’s problem? I know there are still quite a few of them.

SimWorks Studios Pilatus PC-12 released
I can live with waiting on fine tuning the handling, as I have no problems with controlling it at all. What I really dislike is the engine characteristics. In comparison to the turboprops in XP12, (which are perfectly modeled), the black square king air comes the closest. I haven’t flown the piper M500 which I hear is very good. Without accurate throttle response, beta and reverse, it just breaks the immersion- but other than that, an excellent plane.

Windows 8 and FSX
I'm having a serious problem with installing FS-X on my Win 8.1 system. It had been working fine for many months but I had to refresh my OS because of another issue and FS-X said it was missing files. So I am trying to re-install it from the disks but it at the end of disk 2, it give me an error that I can not solve. First I get a system error 1722 and then 1605 saying the install shield has had a problem and has stopped working or something similar. It's very frustrating to say the least! Any help welcome.

New i7 2600k machine, need recommendation for card.
steves53 replied to stfitts's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcGoing with a cheaper card for flight sim is fine, but is that the only game or sim you use? I would bet any new software being released will make good use of the GPU. I would always go for a high end card, usually just below the top where the first price jump is IMO

I give up...
Wow, that's a lot of trouble to go through for a game or hobby. IMO. I'm a pilot and i certainly love Flight Sims and go back and forth between X-Plane on a mac and FSX in Windows. I guess I've been lucky, other than the post I made earlier about one new model I just installed. I admire your dedication.

F15E issue
I just installed the Milviz F15E yesterday and am having a problem. It loads OK and other planes fly and behave well. I purchased it right before Christmas so I think it's the latest version. When I tried to fly the Eagle only a few of the cockpit switches functioned. I've flown it before on another computer before moving it to this one and it worked fine. I used to start the engines by using all the proper switches, JFS, throttle locks etc. and it worked great. But yesterday only one switch would function. Control E would get the engines starting but wouldn't run. Anyone experience this? Thanks.
