Questions about entering buildings.

Featured Replies

Hi, on some airports I can't enter the buildings with the drone. I'm blocked, the drone camera always hits a wall then next thing I know I'm on the roof. Why is this?

Thanks.

I've noticed the same Jack. It's like some stairs you can walk up and others you can't. II'm guessing it's just the way the scenery has been deisgned.

Thanks. It’s odd.

As far as I am aware, this is because some developers apply solid collision meshes to the buildings that force the drone camera up and over the top. I do not know why some do this and others do not, but I agree that it is somewhat frustrating. Interestingly, there are times when I have actually been able to enter a terminal building with the drone camera, but then been "bumped up to the roof" on every subsequent attempt. I remember this happening at the hand crafted version of LSZB Bern.

Thanks Christopher, it’s sometimes frustrating especially when you see things and people inside.

There is a chance Jack, that they're having a party and they don't want any gate crashers! biggrin

If I forgot then I wouldn’t be here on a sim site. And there’s a market for interiors which I happen to like. The interiors also give me inspiration for the comics I create.

Appears to be a Sim Update 2/3 regression that will be fixed in a future Sim Update.

It is called Microsoft Flight Simulator, but who are you to tell others what they can or cannot do on their own PCs? For the record, this is more than just a flight simulator. It is fast becoming a world experience simulator. There is an avatar mode for a reason, and that drone camera is fun to use as an exploration device.......including terminal and hangar interiors. It is also extremely handy for beta testing purposes.
