FSW Lancair Legacy analog preview

I really like Gx000’s, but steam gauges work best for me in-sim.

Looking forward to this!

  • I know I moaned about the wrong autopilot 😄 , but I just have to take a minute to applaud and congratulate Momo and FSW on this phenomenal completion and rounding out of this product. It is vast and c

  • It’s not just an analog cockpit added on as an option is it, it’s a work of art in its own right. Very nice. I’m sort of glad the Got Friends Taylorcraft got delayed from its release today otherwise t

And they're STILL pumping out updates to the current glass cockpit! :)

It looks like that the Analog panel will be released on their website /updater as a public beta first before releasing as a stable update elsewhere.

Happy with that. The little updater they use has been painless for me so far and the 2024 file structure makes it very quick and easy to weed out what you don't want after every update.

I’m possibly confused by their updater then, I have been deleting the existing version then downloading the new version at 3 or 4 GB each time. Is that what you do or does that “ additional files” button just give you a quick update? I couldn’t see that button doing anything.

I always delete and download, every time.

Ah ok , the same then, thanks, it’s just when you said “quick”, I guess you have better internet than me 😂

Do you have the most up to date updater? V.0.2.6. Its much quicker than it used to be. But yes, I do have Full Fibre too.

The "additional files" button downloads a zip file with the manual and other supporting docs.

My default download location for my PC is my desktop, so I see the zip straight away. But if you're default d/l location is your Downloads folder, that's where it will be putting the zip, when you press that button.

  • 3 weeks later...

On THURSDAY in a move contrary to current trends I’m having all the LCD screens ripped out of my Lancair Legacy and having them replaced with lovely round analogue gauges! 😉

The official Lancair Legacy Analog Panel is complete and is scheduled for release this week.

Five brand-new analog panel variants are included with the update:

• No GPS

• GNS 430

• Avidyne IFD

• GTN 750

• GTN 750Xi

The analog panel has been built from the ground up with authentic systems, custom animations, realistic instrument behavior, and support for multiple avionics configurations, allowing you to choose the panel that best fits your flying style.

When the update launches this Thursday afternoon, it will be the full production release—not a public beta.

Yeah I’ll probably go with the analog panel with the 750/650 garmin stack in the central column like in those photos above, best of both worlds and looks gorgeous (to me)

I read that they were looking at doing analog engine instrumentation but are sticking with those digital displays now, which again I think look really nice.

I’m looking forward to this panel, I was up at dusk doing circuits in the legacy last night and it flies so nicely, it’ll be great with dials ( the way nature intended)
