OK, I was not aware of the GFC 500X; interesting, learned something.

I guess what this all comes down to is whether or not the AP certification of the KAP140 AP is important to a user of the Flysimware Legacy. My guess is it is not important to the vast majority of users, but I can see how it might be to users like yourself with IRL experimental aircraft experience.

I do agree with this, and know that there will be people thinking I'm making a right ol' noise about nothing 😄

It's just that the FSW Legacy is so accurate in all other areas that it seemed a lost opportunity to have something unrealistic, in the autopilot choice.

The G3X version of the Legacy is still one of my favourites in my hangar so there's nothing lost really. When the A2A Legacy comes along I can scratch my analogue itch then 😎

I know I moaned about the wrong autopilot 😄 , but I just have to take a minute to applaud and congratulate Momo and FSW on this phenomenal completion and rounding out of this product. It is vast and comprehensive! There are dozens of aircraft versions, with every avionics option imaginable (including the IFD GPSs). Versions for both people who want castoring nosewheel (realistic) and people like me who hate it in the sim ...and want to steer. Turbo vs NA, Starhawk version, etc, etc. What really gave me a scale of how stunning this addon now is, was reading the new manual that comes with it for this full release. It's insanely detailed and there are dozens of diagramatics and panel descriptions. I doubt there's been an aircraft addon for MSFS with so many versions and options.

I also saw evidence of the scale of this addon when looking at the MSFS2024 folder structure for it - I've never seen so many attachments, presets, liveries, aircraft parts, etc! Every aircraft I buy, I go into the systems.cfg to add two parameters that most developers still miss (pitch_pid_reset and roll_pid_reset), which is needed for smooth AP engagement. It's always already there for A2A, Black Square and COWS releases .......... and of course it was already there in this addon. 😎

I can't fathom the work that must have gone into finishing this full release.

And most importantly of all, it's a stunning, immersive and fun plane to take into the virtual skies!

Well done FSW, you have my serious respect!

I’m so old that exactly ZERO of my flight schools aircraft had GPS!

The first time I ever even used one was years later in the Navy. It was the size of a carry on suitcase and had monochrome lcd displays (no graphics, just digits)! 🤣

But hey, just like that plane, I may be old, but I still dress well. 😎

I’m sort of glad the Got Friends Taylorcraft got delayed from its release today otherwise that would have been 3 hi fidelity GA add ons released 3 days in a row, I’m getting fatigued by it all.
