For me, the A2A Comanche is my #1 GA addon. I don't fly the Aerostar much, but I think that comes down to the plane itself, not the quality of the addon. I only have a single throttle quadrant, so getting the engines started is a challenge. I think if I had a twin throttle, I would enjoy it a lot more.

A2A is still a must buy for me. For me I think their custom flight dynamics put them over the top. There's a lot of very good GA addons, but there's something about flying A2A that just feels better.

Personally I LOVE the modelling that A2A has achieved but the real world plane just seems to be a collection of bad ideas (mild hyperbole) ;)

Partly that, I don't particularly like the aircraft - the Aerostar or the Comanche. I don't find either particularly attractive or exiting to fly. They are well done - extremely well done, but also a bit 'meh' as aircraft. The Aerostar should be more attractive than this to me and I was so excited to see it being developed, but I just don't really enjoy sitting in it much. I don't go 'wow' when I first get in like I do with some other aircraft, and I was really expecting to.

Similarly, the Legacy will be my first A2A plane in MSFS, despite loving A2A's work and owning 3 of their planes back in the P3D days. I've never been a fan of the Comanche IRL (for no real good reasons that I can articulate) and while the Aerostar was of interest to me, the fact that they only did the normally aspirated, no anti-ice version kept me on the sidelines as it doesn't fit my use model for twins - and yes, I understand they modeled the aircraft that they had. While their Legacy will also be normally aspirated, the plane has so much power to spare that it almost doesn't matter. And it fills a different role for me than does a twin.

Much as I love A2A, their Comanche, and the forthcoming Legacy, I also gave the Aerostar a miss. No doubt it is flawlessly put together in all respects, but it's ugly as sin. It looks like two different aircraft joined at the middle. I also have the FSW Chancellor and Black Box Baron taking up most of my GA twin time.

The only A2A I am actually looking forward to is the 172.

IMHO it depends on what you’re seeking from an addon.

I’ll readily agree that A2A’s choice of MSFS aircraft haven’t been the most exciting, but they’re just SO well executed all around that I can’t help but enjoy them immensely.

Black Square does more interesting aircraft, for sure. And of course, they’re pretty much the only choice for Hi Fi turbines.

But for me, the handling on A2A’s is more than enough differentiation that I don’t even think about buying BS pistons. The BS addons just feel so…clinical in their handling. Very correct, but still missing a bunch of the action.

I definitely feel this. But I just pretend it’s my Uncles plane and he pays for the gas, so it makes the choice of the “better” addon easy. 😁🤙

Yep.

But once I’m in it, the only thing I don’t like is how fast it overheats. But that’s part of the charm for me.

And if I’m feeling lazy, a nice overhead break to land gets me on the ground before things get too hot. 😎
