    Hi,

Any info on this bird especially on power spool up/down time. For some reason I noticed some unrealistic behavior on their turboprop airplanes.

    Any information is greatly appreciated.

You will notice unrealistic behavior on all there aircraft.  Nature of the beast.

Thanks, I have two of their turboprops and for some reason they are not quite well on power spool up/down time especially compared to MJC8 Q400.

@killthespam  FYI, startup spool up is only realistic in Alabeo/Carenado turboprops since they have been specifically designed for P3D. A few older ones have been 'retro-fitted'

No, Carenados engine simulation is simply not realistic, in no aircraft. I tried their recent Brasilia and refunded it because simply NOTHING worked like it should. Carenado is eye candy, nothing more.

I get the feeling FDEdev is Carenado's fde designer.... Any truth to that, FDEdev?

More their FDE advisor than designer.  Concerning AirbusCGs comment that 'Carenados engine simulation is simply not realistic, in no aircraft', is of course nonsense.

Thanks for clearing that up. 🙂

Proof it, for example with a startup video of one of the affected planes. There are plenty for the ATR and guess what: The Carenado is simply totally off in every aspect. 😉
But of course a Carenado guy will say different, else how would you justify that price for some eye candy?

Unfortunately all these people (like FDEdev) instead of accepting that there are certain issues and find a solution or a fix they prefer to get in unproductive discussions.

That's why I asked that specific question, the word is out there in the sim community that there is a problem with many of their airplanes and is getting to the point where certain people (like myself and you, real pilots that we have hours under our belt in these airplanes) don't want to spend the money on a product like this, especially  when one of their  advisors makes statements like this "spool up is only realistic in Alabeo/Carenado turboprops",

Having said this, I purchased a few of their Carenado turboprops DO 228-100, S360 and S340 and all of them suffer from the same issue with engine simulation (especially spool-up time during normal power changes). Yes they look nice but...................

The -8 q400 engine performance and characteristics are right on the money and their attitude towards customer is totally different.

I do not want to justify Carenado in any way and I agree with the implausibility. But FDEdev had in mind several another - many planes Carenado made simultaneously for FSX and for P3D, in this case wait plausibility from turbines impossible - FSX has many restrictions. If the aircraft is made only for P3D - the possibilities for implementing the correct dynamics are much higher. Aircraft released only for P3D can have more correct flight dynamics.

And the Dash8-Q400, which I love very much, has an external flight dynamics module unrelated to the simulator. The simulator is used here only as a means of visualizing the model and flight. In this case, the possibilities of real dynamics are unlimited.

If you ask me, it simply feels like Carenado/Alabeo would reuse all their systems 1:1 and simply give them a slightly different look per airplane. The code, and especially the bugs, are 1:1 the same.

I told them over a year ago how the speed mode in the AP needs to work and it still has the same flaws it had back then in every new airplane they release.

If you feel the need to quote only parts of my posts, it would be nice if you would do that without completely changing the meaning of what I've actually wrote.

@AirbusCG, you wrote that no Carenado aircraft has a realistic engine simulation and you mentioned just a single one. That's not quite 'all' since there are 93...

    over and out.

yeah, I'm not wasting my time to proove it for all of them.
If you pay me 100€ I'll find and proove another ten. Deal?

Pure coincidence that I just found out that AirbusCG is Aerosofts Emanuel Hagen.

    Now that explains a lot !  😂
