  1. Harald, you wrote me the other day about some source material for a paint I want to do...I wrote back indicating I would LOVE to get hold of it,but the email reply bounced. Could you send it along to me at ejoiner2(at)bellsouth.net ?ThanksEric
  2. Thats the file name in the L-1011. May be something similarly named in the plane you want to modify. The technique will be the same however so you can fix it yourself more than likely.Eric
  3. Ok, who is gonna be the first to paint Alaska Airlines new Salmon-thirty-salmon 737 livery!!! For AI and for users?!?Eric
  4. Sure would make things a bit more "accurate"...in terms of what airplanes had what style cockpits. :-)Eric
  5. I cleaned this up on the Aerosim L-1011 repaints I did. Theres a vc_window_alpha.bmp file that needs to have its alpha channel DARKENED. which leads to increased transparency.Eric
  6. Ed we should ask Aerosim for a tape gauged model of the L-1011... I was thinking same thing. I mean..flying Lockheed aircraft without tape gauges!!! Please.Eric
  7. Good to see this support forum. Wonder how much use it will get though. Seems most people dump into the general discussion forums figuring that more people will see the posts.Anyway...Ed...wheres that version 3 of your awesome panel for the L-1011? :-) At lease email me the bitmap...I gotta go out of the country for a week tomorrow and was hoping to do some virtual flying this afternoon. ejoiner2(AT)bellsouth.netEric

    L-1011

Guys, am looking for some flight plans that might be typical of those flown by L-1011's back in the day.In particular, Japanese origin, US domestic and Middle East/Europe.Any will do.ThanksEric
  9. bump.. still looking for Harald. His email doesnt work so far as I can tell.Eric
  10. fantastic scenery. Awesome. However, I find that when building a database with FSNAV, it freezes when it comes to this scenery. Anybody know why?Eric
  11. anybody know of any bood Rolls Royce sounds for the L-1011?Eric
  12. I have some of these as well...which I know is a mesh problem caused by some addon. What I'd like to be able to do is just flatten them out with an excl.bgl or a flatten switch etc.Is there a tool to do this? I have no idea.Eric
  13. I got an email from you the other day which I think you posted via Avsim. I attempted to respond to your email but it bounced. Please write me again directly at ejoiner2@bellsouth.netBest,Eric
  14. try removing the bgl files in the scenery directory of that file set labled edastatic.bgl. There are 2-3 of them. Just rename them to *.bgx and they should go away. If you dont like, just rename back to *.bgl.eric
  15. Anybody tried Ed Grabels excellent photoreal panel (Ed Cox inspired!), with the aerosim L-1011? Version 1 worked great. In Version 2, I find that when I switch to the VC, my pilots eye point is several feet above and OUT of the cockpit. I can manually lower it with the keyboard, but thats not a permanent fix. This wasnt a problem in version 1. Anybody else having htis problem and whats the fix? Im assuming its some kind of eyepoint setting to do with the vc. This file appears in the library as uploadv2.0.zipTheres a screen cap of this problem in this shot in the screenshots forum.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=212978&page=ThanksEric
  16. Dam, Dam, Dam!!!!! it....I just bought the FSD Skymaster...enjoying that big time...Then on a total LARK, because I love the L-1011, sprung for this Aerosim bird...I never fly airliners...but I have a special attachment to the Tristar. (could care less about the other birds in the package, but they do add value to the price.)I have the Bonanza A36 and absolutely love it. I also have a full suite of RXP gauges including professional upgrade...NOW THIS. A Baron. AND FROM DREAMFLEET! Same kinds of capabilities as the Bonanza. Im gonna go bankrupt or get divorced..then go bankrupt!(hmm...)I need to quit this crack habit and stick to freeware...(he said..knowing it wont happen.)Guess Lou and crew will have to wait at least one paycheck before I can sneak this bad boy under the radar of the war department in the Joiner household.Lou...I have to hate you now. :-)Eric
  17. I broke down and bought the Aerosim classic airliners2 package tonight...just couldnt resist. However, the links to the updates on their web site apparently do not work. I get a "contains no data" error. There are two updates listed. An older one, and a newer one. Given that I purchased tonight, I would THINK my download would be fully updated, but Im not assuming anything.Anybody know where I can get these update files? I've written to Aerosim but who knows if I will get an answer.ThanksEric
  18. Interesting.. I have flown FS2004 for well over 2000 hours logged time, and never had a problem with the trees height until now...you guys made me notice it!Eric
  19. Excellent find!!!I bookmarked this blog and will read it regularly.Glad to know the FS folks read here too! I beta tested CFS2, CFS3, FS2002 and FS2004. The MS guys always were great to deal with IMHO.Eric
  20. Brilliant stuff!!! I dont fly in the UK very often, so this was a pleasure to find this sheffield scenery! Moving cars on the airport and all. Great stuff.I also downloaded their RAF Tinwall Down scenery for my Golden Wings 3 set up. Another brilliant find!!! My realair Spitfire is enjoying both fields!Eric
  21. God bless and take care of your health.Glad you came through well!Eric
  22. None of these planes mentioned is a twin bonanza. Eric Dantes depicted a unique airplane with some unique qualities, like the 3 abreast seating etc. It has a few issues...for one, I think the landing gear is too big. But generally speaking its very well done and fun to fly. Certainly I am grateful its free!!! Erics pilot figures are also amongst the best done. I personally wish he would release some kind of API or SDK containing these pilot figures because I have seen much worse in payware! In any case, whilst not perfect, I agree these are extremely good.Eric
  23. Tony, I guess I'd be wanting to buy by continent in all 4 seasons for purposes of consistency. I might try the USA-Canada that way.Would love it if there were a flyable demo. Say one of the Hawaiian islands etc.Eric
  24. In the olden days I would've called this an IRQ problem...but with USB I dont think that matters any more!Eric
