  1. I purchased the day it came out and absolutely love it! :D Another great aircraft from Carenado. It is perfect for mountain flying and getting into those tight landing strips. Check out my posting in the screen shot forum for some quick images.Kevin
  2. Looks like fun. What were the frame rates like? Was the all your settings maxed to 100%. :DKevin
  3. I have found other aircraft to oversteer when taxing. One thing I do is to make sure I am not taxing too fast, and also gently apply left/right rudder. When in the turn, anticipate where I will need to be going straight. Meaning start to straighten before you get pointed in the direction you need to be going. Otherwise you will overshoot the taxiway or direction you need to go. It is no different than when flying. You should anticipate the rollout when flying.Kevin
  4. I am a huge fan of Carenado ever since their free Piper Tomahawk or Cessna 152 for FS 2000. I then purchased their Cessna 172 and Piper Saratoga. These were great visual models. When FS2002 rolled around I purchased the Beechcraft Bonanzas. With FS9 I have updated the Bonanzas, purchased the Dakota, 210, 182, and look forward to the 206. I don't know about any seemy history with Carenado, but at this point I don't care to know. The past products and services have been absolutely fantastic. I am one of the few that enjoys general aviation over comercial, and I would like to see more general aviation announcements of products, etc. It is fine and dandy to set the autopilot, push a button and watch the plane take off, cruise and land all by itself. It is fantastic to pilot the aircraft into a mountain airstrip in MVFR / IFR conditions all by the seat of your pants....:D Now that is where real pilots are found....:DKevin
  5. Now that is some ####### good reading... :DKevin
  6. It looks fantastic! But what no Alaska? The only reason to get an MD80 is for Alaska and American Airlines... Sheesh... :DOnly teasing, I don't know what they are going to offer as far as liveries....:DKevin
  7. I own the LevelD 767 and it really is that good. I am looking forward to the LevelD 757 to come out later.Kevin
  8. I have purchased addons from many different suppliers, all reputable. Flight 1, Aeroworx, FSD, PMDG, Flight Scenery - Rohde Island, Lago, CaptainSim (always got the product, not the topic for flamers), Aerosim, MAAM, and the list goes on. All of my purchases have been via downloads and exchange of credit card information. The only one I got by CD was from MAAM (B-25). All updates are available via download. I have yet to have a problem with the products, services or the exchange of funds over the internet. My suggestion is do your research before you buy. If you are not sure about a business and/or a product, just post a question on the forum either here or at the business one and see what kind of responses you get. I know I am always upfront and honest about items I have bought, as most everyone is... :DKevin
  9. Didn't the original have a VC?
  10. What if know one bought on the first day of sale. There would be no one to beta test (as you call it) and assist these businesses to improve their product. Granted I don't want to purchase something that has so many errors that you cannot get it off the runway. However, I do not mind finding little errors and reporting it to the payware businesses. For the most part the items I have reported have either been issues with how I am using it, or there was an actual problem that got solved. Emails and forums do not have emotions, so when you talk to these businesses choose your words carefully and be respectful. I have found they always return the favor in kind. :DKevin
  11. I don't plan on updating at this point. Yeah I know, that is what I said before FS9. However, with FS9 I have invested in too much fantastic payware and freeware to start all over again. Plus I hate seeing the tourture people go through pestering the payware businesses if they are going to release a patch so they can use their payware in FS10, etc. At this point, my FS9 has many more years of life. I just wonder what will happen when I am 60 years old and need support for my payware I bought in 2005. Will they still be around? :DKevin
  12. Personally, I like Avsim. It is much easier to log in, faster to download, and easier to find what you are looking for. I don't like logging in to view a screen that says no node available. I am too cheap to pay for a seat on their website, for the ability to download items I can most likely find here at Avsim. I understand it costs money to operate these websites, and they should. Perhaps as things start to cost more and more, that is the way FS hosts are going. I appreciate Avsim and their wonderful support. It is great to have the opportunity to share files and talk via forums with people of the same interests. :DGO AVSIM! :DKevin
  13. I for one do not see the need for a virtual cabin. Only my opinion. Some like it and some don't. If I have the option I always turn of the virtual cabin and just leave the 2D and virtual cockpit on. I like concentrating on flying the plane. Besides the virtual cabin taking away from frame rates, virtual passengers would kill my computer. What if there were virtual passengers, and what if they talked back to you? I am sorry, I get enough nagging in my real life. I would rather just fly and not hear about how bad my landing was....:DKevin
  14. I like the Caravan from FeelThere, and I just downloaded your repaint last night. It looks very good. I am looking forward to loading it and taking it for a spin. Thank you greatly for your contribution... :DKevin
  15. >As far as I am concerned, if I was in the this developers>shoes, I'd not even respond to questions about a release date,>because any posting from the developer will result in yet>another bunch of responses asking and speculating about the>same thing. Then the potential customer goes out and starts flaming the developer for not responding. It is a no win situation. If I were the developer, I would not offer people the opportunity to pre-pay for something that doesn't exist yet, nor would I say much if not anything at all about new releases. Gamers (I speak in general, there are always exceptions to the rule) are very excitable when it comes to new releases. When it comes to a new release they (in general again) are like kids when it is close to Christmas time. They are not able to sleep at night in the great anticipation of the big day. I often wonder the age of the person who posts the question, "...when will it be released? Huh, Huh, when is it going to be released? I can't wait! It think I will explode if it is not released soon..." :DKevin
  16. Congrats on your first flight!:D I know how I was after my first time piloting a real aircraft. It called being bitten by the bug. Once you get your first taste for real flying, you want to do it over and over again.I flew real aircraft long before I flew any virtual planes in FS. I found that FS was a lot more difficult than the real thing. I think it is because you don't have an inner ear and a seat telling you what the plane is doing. So when do you go for the private license or equivalent in Austrailia? In the states you have a private license that allows you to recreation fly.Kevin
  17. I find that my type of flying goes in spirts. Most of my payware is general aviation. I have a few airliners like the PMDG 737, Beech 1900, Flight1 ATR and LevelD 767. These are good enough to do the feeder routes to the long flights across the pond. So I don't spend a lot of time and money on the airliners. The kind of flying I have done before FS was fly general aviation (just for fun). So I spend much of my time flying the aircraft I know well (piper, cessna, beechcraft). The ones that I choose to fly go in spirts. I will fly a lot of the Aeroworx King Air, or mostly the Carenado Cessna 182, it all depends on the mood, where I am going, and interest.Nuff said.....Kevin
  18. I am looking to get a bit more speed and fluidity out of my computer. I am considering either getting more RAM or a newer processor. What would be the best. I am currently running an Athlon 1.85 ghz processor and 1 GB of RAM. I think the video card is okay as it. It is a ATI 9500 128MB card. Anyway, looking for suggestions on this or maybe you might have other ideas to look into.I am currently running windows XP so I don't know if another gig of ram will help smooth things out a bit.Thank you for the assistance...Kevin
  19. I think we can all share your enthusiasm for FS. I have never uninstalled FS. It is the longest lasting game on my computer. I think I only have one other game on my computer, but it has been so long that I cannot remember what it is.... :DI to find that FS is my perfect escape from the daily grind of work and people.... When I cannot fly the real planes at my local club, I can brush up on my IFR in FS....Kevin
  20. I would have to say my most downloaded file is the repaint I did of the old freeware FSD T-38 Talon in 1970's thunderbird colors. However, my favorite is the repaint I did of the Aeroworx King Air in real world colors, N6571U. Or maybe it was the repaint of the Aussim Piper Warrior II in real world colors, N4381F. I did a lot of my private and instrument flight training in this aircraft at Tacoma Narrows Airport. So many repaints it is hard to choose which is my favorite...:DYou can download all my repaints http://library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=...=0&Page=1&Go=GoKevin
  21. The future of flight simming will become flight reality. We will all be taking advantage of the thousands of airports world wide, and be flying hybrid airplanes to work, the grocery store, and everywhere.... My guess is by the year 2050, or maybe sooner or later.... :DKevin
  22. I say PC-12! However, I do own both and there are very fantastic aircraft. You won't be disapointed in what ever you choose, in my opinion. I know I wasn't.Kevin
  23. I have their Rhode Island and free LFRD scenery. I have been tracking the progress of the Portland Scenery. Being from Washington it will be the perfect compliment to the Fly Tampa Sea-Tac International. They do very nice work! :DKevin
  24. http://airnav.com/http://myairplane.com/Both are great resources for navigation charts and aids.Kevin
  25. I don't work for Avsim, but enjoy it's many services. I do think the download numbers are real. It is not new people downloading all the time. I know for a fact I have re-downloaded items because I forgot to back it up to CD or don't remember what 100's of CD I put it on. Plus, sometimes it is just easier to find it on Avsim, than on a backed up dusty CD.I have re-downloaded the Fokker 100/70 at least twice. Plus, it is a popular aircraft in the real world, and people I think like the realism of flying what is actually at their local airportsJust my thoughts....Kevin
