MilViz F86 - Two Issues
I don't own this aircraft however if the canopy is really clean you may only see the radio antena imbeded in the top. I can't remember if this was done on the F-86, however it was on some fighters. The last click on the lights might be for lights used in thunderstorms to offset lighting. Just a educated guess. RLJR

New PC feed back
I have installed FSX in a new Lenovo Y900 computer. The computer has two hard drives. I installed the program on the smaller faster drive. I am happy to report it is performing great. However I have to say reaching tec. service at Lenovo is hard to do. Thankfully I finally got them through their sales and got my questions answered. I have had Dell, HP and Lenovo. Good stuff, however the support is all the same. None are the greatest in that regard.

New computer setup?
I just received a Lenovo Y900. It is the best I have ever owned. The question is this, it has one drive of 256 G and a 2 TB drive. Which drive should I put FSX? I just haven't used a computer with two drives before. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks,RLJR

New PC?
I have been having problems with my Dell XPS 9100 for some time. I think I will replace it . The question is with what. I do photos, searching on line, FSX with add on's, and E mail. Is there a company any one would recommend? Dell may have the best computer to my knowledge, however their maintenance help desk isn't so good. I could build a computer, however I prefer to get one ready to go. Any helpful input is appreciated. Thanks, Ralph

Windows 10, New computer and FSX
I have windows 10 and FSX. At first I had your problems and then after all the updates it is working OK. Do the windows updates until it says there are no more to do. Go to the video card manufacture site and check for updates. Do the control alt delete to bring up the Task Manager and select the start up tab. Disable all that is not needed. Run FSX then and see what happens. I suspect you will be OK. Good luck, RLJR

After win 10 update
I was doing some trouble shooting and found that Acceleration wasn't registered. It had been working just fine before the update and I had registerd it when I installed it. Just something about the update I guess. I am good to go. Thanks anyway RLJR

After win 10 update
After the update [KB3118754 installed on 11/19] for win 10 I get a error pop up; We're sorry, an unexpected error occurred which is preventing product activation from being completed, Error Code: 4-80070005. FSX worked just fine before the update. After the update it seems OK except for this pop up. Any thoughts Thanks RLJR

I Need 'Motivation' to Fly!
OK so you are bored with just sitting there and letting the modern aviaonics do their thing. Well try this. Push the weather to 00 visibility and make an approach to a airport by the numbers. When the temp and dew point are together you have fog and is a good place to start. Get the charts and do it right. Now after you have mastered it with modern stuff, try the Beaver X. A good flying stable platform for practing instruement flying. The difference is you are limited with a lot less fancy instruements. Now you are closer to flying like the old guys did. It will take a lot of time to get profiencent, however it is something that is rewarding. Staying with the Beaver you can try mountain flying. The Beaver has 450 horse power and is a world of difference away from the Duke with those humongous turboprops. Make a flight to somewhere that you will have just enough fuel to get to and then figure how far you can go towards that airport and have enough fuel to get to a alternate. Let there be winds involved in your flight. I think this was called a Radius of action from a moving base. It has been a lot of years since I learned this so don't hold me to names and such. You might want to use a E6B to determine all this. As to the E6B, use it to properly make calculations in your instrument approaches. You know from the VOR to the outer marker and such. Consider the speeds and wind to get the times. You can use the online E6B or buy a real one. It is a handy gadget to have. I use one I bought in the 60's If you really want to get into it get the aviation weather and learn to read it Learn to make your own forecast. Do flights by dead reckoning. Again you will have to figure the wind into your flight along with knowing about compass bearings and other stuff. Figure density altitude especially for the higher airports. Knowing this stuff could save your bacon if you ever get to do this stuff in real life. Well this will keep you busy for awhile, so good luck and good flying. RLJR

Maybe
Thanks to all for your help in getting my sim back up and running. I have had a test of will power over the last year when it comes to my computer. I have had intermittent problems from shut downs to loss of info. When I would test it all would pass and finally I got a hit that proved to be the culprit. It was a intermittent memory card. Now it is wonderful to be able to install a program and have it be stable. Maybe I can get on with my life now. Thanks again for all the help. RLJR

Wild West "Ghost Towns" of the US
I have been to all states except the one out in the ocean. My favorite are the ones in the Rocky's. They are the closet to us and they are beautiful. Colorado is the easiest to get to and one of the prettiest. There are a lot of ghost towns and don't forget your gold pan. You can still find a few flakes now and then. California is great also, but a little far for the drive.
