  1. Thanks ever so much my friend!
  2. I had to do some research to determine the problems and get an estimate for repair. https://gofund.me/20d81855
  3. Gee, talk about how to destroy one's entire reputation. I did not know that a university can revoke an earned degree...
  4. I'm just happy that I was able to visit Oshkosh two years in a row while I was living in NW Indiana. At 73 and poor as a church mouse, at least one thing was checked off my "bucket list." ๐Ÿ˜‰
  5. While the writers were on strike, all episodes were scripted by the studio's janitorial crew... ๐Ÿคช
  6. I've never heard this song before. It kind of reminds me of Tom Lehrer's song, "So long Mom, I'm off to drop the bomb, so don't wait up for me." *see footnote The best line in the song is the very last: "I'll see you when the war is over... an hour and a half from now."
  7. Charlie, I only carry liability insurance. It would be foolish to pay for full coverage on a twenty-five-year-old car... ๐Ÿคจ
  8. Welcome back "home" my dear friend!
  9. Unfortunately, the car has independent rear suspension using McPherson struts. Upper and lower control arms, as well as anti-sway bars are used. I tried to drive to the closest garage, but as can be seen, the tire self-destructed about a mile down the road. I had to limp it back to my home. <sigh> Oh yes, while the tire was flailing around during the short drive home, it managed to rip up the brake line, so now I have no brakes... <thud!>
  10. I've given some thought to that idea. I will most likely do just that Martin. Twenty years ago I'd have already jacked up the car and determined what exactly needed to be replaced. At 73 though, I can't even safely get down on the ground to look, much less stand up again! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  11. I've answered in a PM to you Phil... ๐Ÿ˜‰
  12. Gee thanks Charlie! At my age, I'm likely not able to even lift a 20lb sledge hammer. I'm more likely to knock some sense into myself! ๐Ÿ˜†
  13. Well friends, yesterday afternoon sparked a real disaster in my life of retirement. My right rear wheel found a very deep pothole on my way home from shopping and managed to move the entire wheel assembly rearward about three inches, and canted inwards from the top of the wheel about two inches. While my little twenty-five-year-old Toyota Camry is still "sort of drivable," it now has a distinct "waddle" when moving over thirty miles per hour and is most certainly unsafe. While I've been ecstatic to rent a small home deep in the Arkansas woods, living nearly ten miles from the nearest grocery store and fifteen miles from the VA Clinic is going to make life extremely difficult for me now. I honestly don't know what I can do now, since my very modest SS and SSI income simply isn't sufficient to effect repairs on the car.
  14. Wow, I had no idea the the humble Sky Tractor has taken on a new role as an armed military aircraft! I also did not know that it was capable of a payload equal to its gross weight! It has been used for several years as a drug enforcement aircraft by Homeland Security, and several dozen in the Army as ground support units.
  15. In my unvarnished opinion, it is most likely alien teenagers punking us primitive earthlings... ๐Ÿ˜
  16. This video popped up in my feed early this morning. Eventually I still suspect that the will add the full gravel kit. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  17. Considering that many of the places they service only have gravel runways, that's pretty much a given! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  18. Buffalo is a very interesting airline. They had a long running reality series and most of the episodes are available on YouTube. I'm delighted that they finally got the 737 they have been salivating over! ๐Ÿ˜
  19. Okay, this has strayed far too deep into the Forbidden Zone... ๐Ÿ˜‰
  20. Pure insanity! I'm surprised that New Mexico and Arizona were not totally irradiated with so many "bomb tests" conducted. Did we really need 1032 of such tests?
  21. What would be even more amusing (in a terrified way) would be if they found both contact lenses, but were confused by who's were who's, and got them mixed up. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  22. Today there exist bombs with very precise yields ranging from small tactical nukes that have a very limited range to one's with very high ranges. The so-called Tsar Bomba was the - so far - most extreme example of the latter!
  23. Yes, it is the same outcome. Compare the residual radiation at Trinity to that of Chernobyl. It still remains very dangerously hot there.
  24. What was discovered is that there is at least one area that the cameras do not cover. Where the alleged cocaine was found is located in this particular blind spot. That's the major impediment to identifying who was responsible for planting the coke... There also were no fingerprints on the plastic bag, so there's no help there either!
