  1. Read the the NGX intro PDF to optimize setup. Move back sliders or lower screen resolution. 1920x1080 resolution with full sliders and bloom requires the IBM Watson Supercomputer, that's in the fine print.
  2. I would like the 2d quadrant as well, but... I have found the VC view presets are actually quite good and put you right where you need to be. I guess that doesn't really help the multiple monitor people though.
  3. BTW - The pressurization system seemed to reset itself after landing. I switched it back to auto and the altitude settings came back. I won't make that mistake again. But I'm sure I'll find something else to muck up. lol
  4. Switched pressurization to manual and things seem to have stabilized. May just just make it after all.
  5. You folks are correct. Some idiot had the bleed valves off :/ I got the cabin to pressurize and the alarm to shut off. But I still have 'auto fail' illuminated and the altitude windows (for pressurization) show dashes and won't allow input. I wonder if anyone is alive back there. I could sure use some coffee.
  6. About to shut down a flight with the NGX. A horn started going off at ~11,000 ft while climbing. I can't get it to stop and I can't find anything wrong. No warning or alarm light, nothing on the FMC. Scanned overhead and other panels and I can't figure out what isn't happy. The climb is going on fine in VNAV, LNAV. Not sure if the NGX has gone crazy or I'm missing something. Any suggestions? Hate to shut down a flight that is otherwise going nicely. #concernedOverNebraska
  7. It certainly sounds like malware. It's highly unlikely it has anything to do with the PMDG file. bleepingcomputer.com is one place to start with malware issues.
  8. And... you're running latest and greatest cpu overclocked to 4.8 with a cooler. (although with liquid nitrogen you could probably get to 5.8... ;/ ) That's pretty much what you have to do.
  9. I'm considering liquid nitrogen for next system. :)
  10. Well, the NGX is a thing of beauty and it's been a fun couple days getting to know it a little. It has also brought back the reality of how much of a cluster @#$% FSX is. Thanks to the great intro section of the manual and the very helpful configuration tool that it links to, the game works reasonable well in the starkest of conditions and at altitude. Any attempt, however, to spice things up with a medium size airport with some traffic is met with harsh punishment in frame rates. It really just sucks the enjoyment out of what should be great experience. This is certainly no fault of PMDG. It's been a couple years so I guess it's time to plan out another computer build. Although even the latest and greatest will require immediate CPU fan upgrades and overclocking to run FSX with any realism. In the meantime, I'll fly from African desert to African desert. Far, far away from humanity.
  11. Given the clarity of the VC, I would be OK with it if I could figure out how to move laterally in the VC. Panning around and zooming just puts you at awkward angles to many things. The flaps lever is pretty much unreachable. What's the best program for moving around? (that does not include putting some contraption on your head).
  12. Fiddlesticks. I was hoping the release would be delayed until Boeing confirms the 737 re-engining specifications. :(
  13. These posts about all the detail in this plane is why I don't mind the wait.
  14. That was nice thing to read on this Saturday morning. :( I'd be interested to know how it is frame rate wise, compared to the 747.
  15. The 737 NGX has been released in China? The U.S. will probably be next. :(
  16. I guess I should order that CPU cooler now. :( H70. Hope it fits.
  17. Thanks Robert. I admire you and the team for not giving in to temptation and/or pressure to release before it meets your standards. Although I can't wait to get my cyber hands on this plane, I'd rather endure the wait for a product that's done right. It seems to becoming a lost art in this world. :(
  18. Today must be groundhog day.
  19. Oh my, what have you boys done? And I'm still annoyed at how smooth these videos are. FRAPS should cause some stuttering.
  20. May I ask what that i7 920 is overclocked to?
