  1. Perhaps because you might want the new features offered by version 2 and recognize that the effort that has gone into iteasily justifies it not being given away?
  2. If you have a legal key and just need the download try this:http://www.flightsimworld.com/downloads/viewfile/435.htmlCheers,Mark
  3. Interesting, thanks for posting it David.
  4. RC is a million times better than default, get it.
  5. I don't think an Extended Team member can go any further with that conversation at the moment (NDA) and this is PMDG's forum, not Airsimmer's, so let's talk about PMDG eh?
  6. Which makes me wonder how they will apply this new tech to the NGX in it's FS9 incarnation...
  7. Thanks Jim. In the end I installed it despite the warning, as I don't personally need the IIS service, but there may be others who do. As an aside, I had to run the installer twice - the first time it installed .net but then gave a 1603 error, the second time it saw .net was present and installed successfully.Cheers,Mark
  8. I've just built a new rig, modest by most standards but a step forward from what went before. I have the RC for Windows 7 installed, and I cannot install AS6, because the required .net framework (1.1) throws an error: "This software has known incompatibility with IIS services on this platform."Is there anyway I can work around this and get AS installed again??
  9. Kendall, thanks for your help, but I'm not sure what is confusing about my original post. I was publicly asking the question about sharing of the downloads because I wanted to know whether it was allowed or not, not because I was hinting at piracy. I suspected that the RTM would be a no go, but I wondered whether the RC, which had been publically available, would be ok. I had no sinister motive.
  10. I've just ordered a new mobo, cpu and RAM, as my ageing machine was just playing up too much. I have also pre-ordered Windows 7, thinking, "That's fine, I'll just download the Release Candidate people were talking about, and then put on the full thing later." It seems I can't do that, because MS has stopped the downloads, which is fine and their perogative, but is there any other place to get it from? Is it permissible for people who did download the RC or RTM to share their download, and if so can anyone help me please?I'm trying to avoid the pain of installing XP again now, and then redoing the whole thing in October.Cheers,Mark
  11. I had problems with supersampling anti-aliasing enabled, going back to multi-sampling fixed them.
  12. Some change I have made at some point stopped FS menus from working in full screen mode. This is a massive pain in my butt, so does anyone know how to fix it? On the select a flight screens I just get a black screen, until I switch to windowed mode. Once in flight activating any menu just pauses the sim, until I deactivate the menu again.
  13. The Super80 is for FS2004, the Super80 Pro is not
  14. I think the survey shows that half of us don't see your point, or at least see it and disagree. FSX has not yet made me want it enough, and so like a lot of people I'll stick with FS9. I think it's a shame some developers are cutting off half their potential market.
  15. Yes, Fs9 first, and FSX later.
  16. That's a good read, thank you very much to Alex and the team!
  17. OK, it seems there was a very simple solution - I just had to reload the aircraft once the flight had loaded, and that seemed to kick the gauge into life. If anyone else has struggled with this, now you know ;)
  18. Hi Bill,Just an update - I've reinstalled the Avenger package but still no joy with the carrier gauge. I tried downloading the COP package itself and reinstalling that and it still did not work. Any ideas will be much appreciated! Thanks,Mark

    BAV

Well, it's a different sort of thing, but I enjoy being a member of VPA: http://virtualpilots.org/You can fly scheduled services (and log time with another VA at the same time without problem), or just potter around doing your own thing, or take on a varied set of missions ranging from three legs to a 350 leg VFR coastal world tour (probably for the insane). VPA is giving me options and that sense of purpose while BAV is down, and even when BAV comes back I think I'll stay in both.

    BAV

BAV's on a bit of a break while the board are completely revamping the systems, I think. The domain name has been lapsed as far as I can tell, but http://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/ is alive and teasing us. I don't think there's any ETA on the relaunch.Cheers,Mark
  21. I assume British Airways Virtual is one, but it's on a break at the moment...
  22. Hi again Bill,Here's a screenshot showing the problem I'm having:As you can see the gauge is not picking up any of the zones, even though they are defined in the .ini files. I know this is probably a freak problem, as I can't find any other posts talking about it, but if you have any suggestions they'd be gratefully received! Thanks,Mark
  23. Hi Bill,That's the problem - I can't get USS Langley, or any other zone, to show up by using the plus or minus buttons. I'll try to get a screenshot later and post it so you can see what I mean. Thanks,Mark
  24. The Avenger is taking me to new places, specifically carriers!I've never tried carriers in FS2004 before, so again this might be me, but I can't seem to get anywhere with COP and the USS Langley. Using the supplied short final flight, no zones are selectable on the COP HUD. Any hints? Thanks,Mark
