PMDG install on fresh computer
Hello everyone, So lately I have been having some issues when using PMDG aircraft (it does happen with other aircraft to, but the problem started when I first installed the NGX). The issue is that after using FSX for a few minutes it suffers a fatal error. Anyway I posted here about a week or so again, here is the thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/416887-fsx-has-encountered-a-fatal-error/#entry2757962 I followed the suggestions and I created a new .cfg file, this worked for some time, however once I installed the 777 the problem came back. I tried to fix it the same way, but with no luck. So after getting extremely frustrated with my flightsim I just completed a fresh windows re install, deleting everything off my computer and starting from fresh again. So what i'm asking is what is the best process to follow when installing my FSX, and PMDG aircraft, etc... Any Mods I should add? I just hope to avoid this problem again, thanks for the help! - Mike I just wanted to add my specs: CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($169.99 @ Microcenter) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($19.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme6 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($159.99 @ Amazon) Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($49.92 @ NCIX US) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($57.99 @ NCIX US) Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($89.99 @ Adorama) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card ($279.99 @ Microcenter) Case: NZXT Phantom (Black) ATX Full Tower Case ($119.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair Professional 750W 80 PLUS Silver Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($129.99 @ Newegg) Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($19.98 @ Outlet PC) Monitor: Asus VH236H 23.0" Monitor ($149.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ Outlet PC) I have windows installed on my SSD (drive C), should I install FSX on the same drive as windows, or on it's own drive (drive e)

Watch your brakes!
Not sure if anyone has noticed this before, but you can overheat your brakes in the 777 and it brings your aircraft to a stop. They are red hot as well. Nice touch!

Watch your brakes! [DELETE]
Not sure why this was posted twice. My bad!

unbelievable! just my luck! ×(
Wait you can buy a motherboard, a kick &@($* graphics card and the 777 with one paycheck? Damn man good for you

FSX has encountered a fatal error
Just to add, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. Anyway, I have deleted the UIautomationcore.dll from the FSX directory, however it still exists in the windows32/windows64 folders. I can't delete them there since they need premesion. In addition I turned off XP compatibility mode and it is still not working. I just did the tutorial flight from EHAM, it crashed climbing through 7,000 feet. FSX has encountered a fatal error
Hey everyone, So I've been having a very frustrating problem with FSX. After flying around for a few minutes FSX will randomly crash and it will say FSX has encountered a fatal error and will now close. This will happen randomly without me pressing any buttons etc... What I have tried: 1. The whole UIautomationcore.dll replacement thing. I have downloaded 5 different versions, every one has failed. 2. Run in Windows XP compatibility 3. Run as admin 4. Complete FSX re install None of these have solved my issue, I understand that this is not a problem with just the 737NGX, however I posted this here since it is the most active flightsim forum that I know of. Any suggestions?

Getting ready
Hey everyone, I have not been able to play flight sim in over a year since i have not had the computer to run it. However just yesturday I purchased some new parts on newegg for my first build. This is what i'm getting, PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($169.99 @ Microcenter) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($19.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme6 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($159.99 @ Amazon) Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($49.92 @ NCIX US) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($57.99 @ NCIX US) Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($89.99 @ Adorama) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card ($279.99 @ Microcenter) Case: NZXT Phantom (Black) ATX Full Tower Case ($119.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair Professional 750W 80 PLUS Silver Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($129.99 @ Newegg) Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($19.98 @ Outlet PC) Monitor: Asus VH236H 23.0" Monitor ($149.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ Outlet PC) Total: $1337.79 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-01-05 01:57 EST-0500) So for the first time I will be able to fly the PMDG 737NGX. I'm pretty excited so I wanted to ask if there are any recommended tutorials anyone could recommend that I should watch to learn the aircraft.

Okay Okay I give! [PC Build]
Hey everyone, sorry for the delay in my response. I forgot I posted this on avsim! Anyway I have made a few changes, PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($169.99 @ Microcenter) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.98 @ Amazon) Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme6 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($159.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($44.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.98 @ Outlet PC) Storage: Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($101.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($89.99 @ Adorama) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card ($287.99 @ Microcenter) Case: Rosewill THOR V2 ATX Full Tower Case ($129.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($69.99 @ Newegg) Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($24.98 @ Newegg) Monitor: Asus VH236H 23.0" Monitor ($149.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ Outlet PC) Total: $1404.83 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-01-03 01:45 EST-0500) Also, as for the 3570k, i'm going to stick with this processor since i'm getting a motherboard, and RAM which is designed off of a ivy bridge chipset. I plan on playing some other games then just FSX. Plus, the price difference is like $10, at least from what i've seen.

Okay Okay I give! [PC Build]
Hey everyone! I've been wanting to build a computer for a little over three years now, however I have never had the money and i've always had something come up which stopped me. After about a year of putting money aside I now have about $1,000 saved up for a computer and i'm going to treat myself finally. I plan on using my PC for mainly FSX with heavy addon use such as REX, AI Traffic, Fly tampa, and PMDG and I want to be able to run this game on high settings and have the game run smoothly. I also plan on playing other games such as Rail sim, take on helicopters, Assassins creed III(comes free with my 660), and other high performing games. This will be my first time building a computer, I have talked to a few friends for advice and I have a somewhat draft of my final system build so I wanted to ask if anyone on here could offer some criticism, or suggestions on what I can improve on. I have to say i'm very excited for this build, I have not played flight sim in over a year! When I did play flightsim it was on a slow computer which could not run FSX which sadly stopped me from using the NGX. Here is my list so far for my PC. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($169.99 @ Microcenter) CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS9500 AT Ball Bearing CPU Cooler ($31.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($144.99 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($49.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($94.99 @ Microcenter) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card ($277.55 @ Newegg) Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($69.99 @ Newegg) Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($16.99 @ Newegg) Monitor: Asus VH236H 23.0" Monitor ($149.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ Outlet PC) Total: $1166.44 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-01-01 13:27 EST-0500) What do you think? Will I be able to fly the 737NGX in the VC into payware airports with AI traffic running as well as REX? I can't wait to finally use the NGX!

First Destination
Once I have my new computer I will do some learning and practicing in the Seattle area out of KBFI, then I will go on for the delivery flight to KDFW for American, then on to Boston where it will be based. Won't have my new computer until December though, so I will have to wait. ='(

What are you doing while wating for NGX
Saving towards a new PC so I can actully run the NGX. =) Looking to spend around $1,000 so I can build a decent one, I have $200 so far! Ways to go though. Aside from that working, studying for finals at college, watching the Bruins and taking lessons for my instrument rating.

Will the JS4100 ever make to FS9?
one quick question, is the dash going to be for FS9?

PMDG I hate you......really
I already have 5GB of ram and windows 64bit, however my ram speed is only like 400mhz so I guess I should buy newer ram, at least that is what people are recomending. Does that seem like it would make a big difference?

PMDG I hate you......really
Well thanks for the suggestions everyone, im going to get my FSX back from my friend today and give it another test run and see how im getting on frames, then im going to consider what to upgrade. However Im not going to upgrade untill Octoberish since I want to finish off my PPL training, I only have like another 8 hours to get, and of course thats more important. :) So that gives me time to save up some money and since this is computers im sure there will be some better products or some cheaper products to get at that time.

Nice little touch
I know this is not a big deal but for some reason you are the first developer to do this even though its such a simple thing to do. What I mean is how you guys already configured the plane for AES, nice little touch. I went into the configuration page in AES and found it was all set, thanks!

Thank You For This Amazing Aircraft.
