I've been away from this forum for about the last 6 weeks and the newest BIG thing since then is REX. I've spent the biggest part of today reading as much as I can about REX , the "good, the bad and the ugly". I'm fairly happy with my FS2004 set up as it it now, but I am going to try REX. Would someone please list ALL of the files for me to manually backup BEFORE installing REX so that I can 100% get it back to it's original state if I want to? Thanks jerrycwo4

Alex I don't think your going to "win" this discussion but I for one am eternally grateful for your "plugging" the 3-monitor system. I took the plunge about a year ago and my flight simming has never been better. I've shown my 3-26" system many times and I for one NEVER fly my one monitor version. Some people like chocolate and others like strawberry.... it's a personal choice. Thanks again Alex.... jerrycwo4

Your artical talks about, G.E. Pro II. Do you really mean, G.E. FS2004 VERSION 2????? I have "Ground Environment Professional FS2004 V 2.0.1.Do I have the lastest version or did I miss something? Is GE Pro II the same as GE pro v. 2.0.1? Thanks jerrycwo4

After a week's effort I am still unable to set up my Go Flight throttles for the Majestic Dash 8. Mr Zane Gard wrote an Avsim review on how to do this in 2006, but I just don't understand HOW to follow his instructions. Does anyone know if he is still involved in Fs2004 and how I can reach him? Help.... I'm really over my head on this one. I just purchased the Majestic Dash -8 , Pilot version and when I installed it my Go Flight throttles nor my computer mouse with work the throttles ???? There is a notepad message inclosed, labeled "throttle .ini", with a ton of numbers on it, BUT no instructions on how to set up my Go Flight throttles. Even when I'm in the cockpit the mouse will not move them. I have also written to Majestic.com for help but I have not heard from them as yet. Does anyone have this aircraft and the Go Flight throttles and can tell me how to set them up. Thanks jerrycwo4

In an earlier post someone was looking for the "Best Trees" in Fs2004 and the suggestion was made for "Trees 3" by Aime Leclercq in Avsims files. This file is NOT in the File Library right now. It is at Flight Sim. Look under "Advanced Seach"" All these words.... TREES"One or more of these words....Aime Leclercq 2007It will take you to this file.jerrycwo4

Last year , Jetline Systems (www.JetlineSystems.com) built me a custom 3 monitor system with the fastest hardware parts available at the time. The CPU is an factory overclocked at 4.0 GHz and it has 3 video cards: GeForce 9800 GTX. I only fly Fs2004 and I could use MORE power even yet. I received the computer with the FPS locked at 45 and run at this setting for almost a year. I did have the problem of bad flashing on my right side monitor when the sim was under high stress such as heavy clouds or near a complex airport. I found that I could drop the FPS from 45 to 26 and most of the flashing stopped. If I put Fs2004 on just one monitor ( with FPS locked @ 45 at a certain location) I'd get 45 FPS. If I added the 2nd monitor the FPS dropped to 22 FPS and if I added the 3rd monitor they dropped to 11 FPS. Every time you add another monitor you LOOSE FPS. AT complex airports I'm down to about 10-11 FPS then when airborne they raise to 26 FPS. I've always heard that it takes 5 monitors for a complete 180 degree view, BUT I get a full 180 degree view with just three monitors. Its the way I set up my views. They are NOT one view stretched over 3 monitors..... they are three DIFFERENT views on three different monitors. Next year when my rid is two years old I'm going to have Jetline upgrade it with new, stronger, faster components. My BEST advise to you is to talk to Greg Sanderson at Jetline ( 1-888-695-3854). I'm looking for the BEST Lockheed Constellation for Fs2004 that I can find. It MUST have a VC panel . I read a review of the one from Abacus but it said that the VC panel was NOT very good. I installed a great looking one that I've had since 2004 ( downloaded from Avsim, BUT it did NOT have a VC panel. Can anyone help me find one? Thanks jerrycwo4

Yesterday, after reading the "ad" on the Avsim forum I decided to order the AeroSims PropLiner set which has, among other aircraft, the DHC-6. Below is the E-mail I sent them that explains my problem with their package. Has anyone else had this problem ? PLEASE advise me if you did and what you did, if anything to fix the problem. Thanks jerrycwo4"Yesterday I ordered the PropLiner collection and have determined that the Auto Pilot for the DHC-6 does NOT work correctly. You can "click" on all of the Auto Pilots buttons ( AP, HEADING, NAV, ALT etc) and NOTHING happens. The default setting on the VS window is "6500 / 000" and I can find nothing to change these values. Of course there is a "work-around" of setting the AP functions with such as "Z, CTRL/A, CTRL/H, CTRL/Z AND CTRL/N". Is this the ONLY way that the AP will work? You can place the cursor on the VS speed position and a "+" or a "-" will appear, but NOTHING happens. The values will NOT change. I have NOT tried the other 2 aircraft in this package as the reason that I bought it was for the DHC-6. I did download and install the one "Update" that was listed on your support page, but that did NOT fix the problem with the DHC-6's Auto Pilot. PLEASE ADVISE how to fix this problem. I bought it the other day because I liked their "water" program so much. I really couldn't tell much of a difference, if any. The center of the runways seem a little bit darker and I really cant tell that they have added more buildings. Maybe it's just me. It's so so and I'm going to leave it installed I I did NOT back up the original textures, so I guess thats that. It was fairly cheap so it isn't a big deal. jerrycwo4

Is it possible to "skew" (using the "Y" key) when using a yoke? I have a Saiteck Yoke and when I press the "Y" key the plane takes off like a rocket. It did not do this when I was using a flight stick ( Microsoft Precision 2 Joystick). jerrycwo4

Thanks for the replies. I just finished reading YOUR review of the DHC-6 and you did a good enough job on the review to convince me. The other day I purchased the Abacus Repaint 2 program and they included a FREE DHC-2 Twin Otter aircraft (FS2004). It was "so-so" but just not up to my standards such as the Level-D B767 and Aerosoft's B-200 King Air. Avsim library is down so I looked in Flight Sim's files and tried one with the larger file size (usually a better aircraft). It to was "so-so" also but I'm looking for something better. Better textures on the outside of the aircraft and a better looking VC panel. Could someone steer me to a better DHC-6 ? yea, yea, I know you shouldn't complain when you get something FREE, but I just want the best there is out there. Thanks jerrycwo4

Twisted 8: In FS2004.....How many FPS are you getting on your 3 monitors? I'm using 3-26" monitors but I was getting some "flashing" on my right hand monitor under heavy loads with mine set to 45 FPS. I pulled it down to 26 FPS and 98% of the time the flashing has stopped. I did notice that when my rig was locked in at 45 FPS with only the center monitor I received 45FPS. Under the same "load", if I added the 2nd monitor, now viewing with 2 monitors the FPS dropped to 22 FPS. If I added the 3rd monitor and now viewing all three monitors, the FPS dropped to 11 FPS. Each time the FPS were cut by 33%. Now away from big cities/airports and a low cloud cover (about 10 % with Active Sky 4.5) I fly with a fairly steady 26 FPS. How about you?? jerrycwo4P.S. This new rig has 3 video cards( one for each monitor) and the CPU is factory overclocked to 4.1 Ghz.
