A few weeks ago I reinstalled the latest version of Radar Contact 4 ( version 4.3) . During the installation I THINK I remember putting a "check mark" in a box that would have either the Pilot or CoPilot control the aircraft in someway. I do not remember just what it was supposed to do at this later time. MY ILS autolanding system has NOT worked properly ( or at all ) since that time. I am 99% sure that this is what caused it to stop working like it (ILS) did before I installed RC4. I can NOT find the "box" to uncheck the Pilot/CoPilot check mark. Could someone please explain to me where to locate this box so that I may Un-check it to see if this is what is causeing my AP ILS to not work properly. Thanks jerrycwo4

A few days ago you added some info to a post about changing the water colors with the "Ultimate Water Progam." That is, taking certain files from it and placing them into another folder to get the Inland and Tropical waters like you like them. I can tell by your post that you know what you are doing. Would you give us all some more help by listing WHAT files you got from WHAT folder (and where the folders are located) and where you placed them ? It would be a big help to all of us. I can not figgure out how to do it on my own. I like you was not satisfied with the way the water looked in REX and I do Like the water from the Zenteck (sp) Ultimate Water Program. Thanks jerrycwo4

I'm thinking about buying some Just Flight British Airports for FS2004 but I already have a couple big payware airports that support Aerosoft's AES. Can I use both of these togather? What will happen if I install them over the top of the two big payware airports ? Thanks jerrycwo4

Am I the only one that would like to have AES (or some other add-on) take the passenger's role ALL OF THE WAY. That is , see them in the terminal sitting waiting for the call to board the plane and to see them physically walk down to jet -way and onto the aircraft and be seated and the reverse upon landing and when there is no jet-way see actual people walk off of the aircraft and walk into the terminal. I've seen some really fancy animation and I think it could really be done. jerrycwo4

Like a number of you above I could not get my REX water just like I wanted it. Zinertek Tech's Ultimate Water Advanced was just what I was looking for. Also their program for the runway textures is just as good as their water program. I know REX has a lot of differant textures for the runways/taxiways etc, but none of them are as good as the Zinertek's. It is the most realistic I've seen yet ! There are "oil spill" stains all around on the concrete and it really makes it look real.PS: When I changed from my REX water to Zinertek Tech's Ultimate Water Advanced I was sorry that I lost my differant color for the oceans and the inland waters. Is it someway possible to have a differant inland water color than ocean water using Zinertek Tech's Ultimate Water Advanced ? Thanks jerrycwo4

Are you asking how to "center " the splash screen on the monitor? I saved this from a post in 2005:"I had this problem, the answer is simple. Start FS9, Go into "windowsmode" - alt/enter - reduce the screen size and drag the screen to theposition required, e.g., centre, exit FS9, restart and it should befixed. I've just tested the above and it works for me. Cheers."I have not had to try this but please let me know if it works for you. jerrycwo4

Has anyone else had problems updating DBS Airport GPS to version 1.4? I could install vr 1.0 OK and then update it to vr 1.2. I could NOT update vr 1.2 to either: 1.2.3 or 1.3 or 1.4. This has been a really frustrating program for me to work with, but when it works, it really making Radar Contact 4 easy to use. Thanks jerrycwo4

I would highly, highly recommend that you check out the systems from jetlinesystems.com. They made my last flight sim computer and I am very very happy with it. Also think hard about upgrading to a 3 monitor system. You will NOT be sorry. Sure it costs more than a single monitor system but there is NO comparison flying with 3 vrs 1 monitor. I know about "I Track" but it's not even close. There is nothing like flying with 3 monitors. I get a 5 foot + field of view that is "breath taking". Save your money and go for 3 monitors and a system from Jetline. jerrycwo4

I used Aerosoft Manhattan on an older computer ( 2.6 GHz) . Its a really beautiful scenery and unbelievable scenery but it takes a BIG FPS hit. jerrycwo4

Could you please add some links to the above suggested programs? I also use a "dedicated" computer for my FS2004 and I use NO antivirus program. Also, what is this "Black Vipers" program? Does it turn off unnecessary programs running in the background? Please give more info of these programs you use. Thanks jerrycwo4

The other day someone was looking for help installing a gauge ( GPS or auto pilot) in the C-130. I can't find their old post. My avsim computer ( this computer) will be "down" for a few days so if you are the one, repost your request in about a week and I'll try to help if you still need it by then. jerrycwo4

I think you are correct. I had the same problem when I installed Glacier and Tongass Bay and one other scenery in that area. I only remember that there was a certain file in both sceneries and when I deleated the file from one on them the problem was fixed . I'm sure that that is the problem. Both sceneries were trying to draw the coastline at the same time. I taking the computer that I'm now using to type this now into the shop this morning. I'll get back to this subject in a few days when I get it back. Thanks for the replies. jerrycwo4

John, I've replaced a number of auto Pilots in aircraft doing it the long way, by hand. I have the C-130 but have not flown it for a long time. Where do you get this other gauge that you want to use? jerrycwo4

Last week I installed UT2004 USA, and then a few days ago I installed UT Canada/Alaska. I love what this program does to my Fs2004. It's like the "cherry on top". I tried a test flight from KSEA to CYVR and was disappointed to see that the shores lines in between were INCORRECT. The land did not extend all of the way to the "shoreline" It's like the shoreline had a breakwater built along many places on the shore. I hope you know what I mean. I left both of the install positions just where they fell in the Scenery Library. I was thinking maybe their positions were wrong in the scenery library and that was the cause of the shoreline problem. I tried "google" to see if I could find the correct position of these two installs within the scenery library and it brought up a number of links, one being a review of UT USA and Canada/Alaska. Here is a part of what it said, "One potential gotcha is that if you like this product (UT USA) so much that you go out and buy Ultimate Terrain: Canada and Alaska, you will need to uninstall UT USA before you put the other product on your disk and then reinstall it again afterward. The reason is that the Canada/Alaska installation routine isn't smart enough to install 'on top of' the USA package, although the two products work just fine together if you do things the approved way around."Is this correct? Has anyone else installed UT USA and then UT Canada/Alaska , then had to UNinstall UT USA and UT Canada/Alaska, then had to REinstall UT Canada/Alaska and THEN REinstall UT USA.
