Oh, I think that 4% is being ever so generous. After seeing several different Cinebench scores I still haven't seen a 9900K match my single core 225 score at 5.0Ghz and 230 at 5.2Ghz.....in fact I still haven't see a single core cinebench of at least 230 at any clock. Oh, and not to beat a dead horse ...and were only days past the 9900k launch :-), I can do 5.2 all day long at about 100 watts or mid 70's c with a H110 v2 being cooled by the ever so quiet Noctcha chassis fans. lol The only question that needs to be answered around here is whether or not those two extra cores on the 8 core coffee makes a meaningful difference while running P3D 4.3 -and I'm not talking about the 2 seconds that the 2 extra cores.will shave off load times .....oh wait, Westman has already answered that for us. Folks there is nothing to see here ....Although, after seeing all the abuse that Intel is putting Coffee Refresh through it has inspired me to run P3D 4.3 at 5,2 instead of the 5.0 I've been running. ---and I'm still 15 to 20 C cooler than the I9900k running 4.9 on two cores.

I’ll give you this Sam: i don’t have a cpu issue with where and how i fly using p3d4.3 with the 8600k. My ceiling issue is with gpu load. And I think, based on what some users here have reported, i can solve by installing another 1080ti. The problem is i can only recommend an apex and i’m not so sure they are readily available anymore.

no ....what are your specs? If you're on a ddr3 system then that 2400 memory is just fine, can't really do any better than that. I did try a 3000mhz memory kit on a ddr3 system ...I ended up selling the kit for the best 2400 kit I could find.

The test bed I used: midday (I think it was late spring - clear skies or fair (shouldn't make a difference) - Orbix So Cal and FSDT LAX - PMDG 747 in take off position at 24L - unlimited fps no vsync - my usual airliner ai traffic pm me for test method I think you're in for a pleasant surprise with that new hardware.

The short and easy answer is no. "( love KLAX area)" Yeah me too! and I'm a Bay Area guy. EDIT: Oh, and that 2400Mhz memory ....Michael? In my memory testing, i did test a 2400 C10 config, not good. 🙂

yeah, that's where my system setup differs from yours, my system isn't tied to the monitor. ...Oh, this may not be relevant to the way your system is setup, but LAX is also the place where I can show a 10% performance pop using 4133 memory over 3200.

I happily do, and with great satisfaction, LAX at least twice a day with the PMDG 747 and Orbix So Cal. In fact my system is propose built just or LAX. I usually do morning and evening flights. General of thumb for all weather 24/7 flying into and out of LAX is: I do not use vync (for fps), especially on approach; and frame rates must be locked (to prevent hard stutters associated with 100% gpu load with DL on), especially at dawn or dusk during take-off roll or on flare to the rnwy .

well, i can't. but i did read somewhere, and understood it as, that he purchased a 3600 c15 kit .....maybe it was someone else. My apologies

Nice memory kit there Bob. If I had that kit I would certainly try it at 4266 c17 or 4000 c16, as the quality z390 boards should be capable.

Yeah again, they are essentially the same processor less the hyperthreading that comes with the 8700K. The 8700 and 8600 both use the same bios settings ...pretty much everything is the same. The difference maker is you can take that $150 and buy a 1080ti instead of the 1070 or 4000 C17 memory with a mobo that will run the memory instead of the 3000 c16 on a budget mobo. If the 8700K and the 8600K are both constrained by the same fixed budget dollar and that $150 savings is invested into other critical performance parts the 8600K will totally out perform the 8700k. Now if not on a budget.. then get the 8700K and see Rob. <g>

Are we talking 8086 or 8600K vs the 8700K? If you're puter savy, or interested in the subject, the 8600K will perform virtually the same as the 8700K, but take that $150 and put into other performance critical components such as stronger memory, motherboard and/or video card you'll probably be show-boating your friends with the 8700K on the lesser mobo, memory or video card. :-)

""""" The company initially had no name and the co-founders named all their files NV, as in "next version". The need to incorporate the company prompted the co-founders to review all words with those two letters, leading them to "invidia", the Latin word for "envy" """" The above is an excerpt taken from the Nvidia Wiki page -''Company History'' section. Yeah, fun useless trivia :-)
