Hi, So it sounds like this was a step climb; did you select MAX ANGLE or MAX RATE in the FMC CLB page or was it flying a standard climb profile to FL310? Also give wind component, speed and TAT prior to the climb, if you recall. Thanks, Joe

Colleagues, Did a search and couldn't find anything on this: Is there anyway to apply a less than full amount of wheel brakes as for example in a taxi line to the departure end of the runway where you slow but don't always have to stop? I know this will run the temp up if I ride them but I'd like to avoid the deck angle pitch-downs that I get with the all-or-nothing brake applications. Thanks in advance. Joe

Armen, i just want to be sure I understand your advice--> if high wind noise is the issue then you stated that rolling back the 'environment' slider will fix that. But I have a follow up question: Since the total sound package--as stated above and elsewhere in the fourm--is absolutely outstanding, will backing off the 'enviroment' slider degrade any of the other fabulous NGX sounds? I use RadarContact 4.3 and its volume is max'ed out in FSX and the wind noise just makes it impossible to hear the calls but I don't want to unbalance the NGX sound experieince if I can avoid it. Scott, We were referring to importing actual published flight plan waypoints and reporting points from online route generators so that you never have to manually enter the legs into the CDU. (Go to simroutes.com as an example.) Once these are saved into the PMDG flightplans folder they can be pulled up and entered by way of the 'coroutes' button on the Route page. Is that what you were asking? Joe

Freinds, Has anyone else set up an ILS approach that performs as expected but you end up being 1/4 mi or so short of the TDZ? I usually enter with VOR/LOC so I can hold the last assigned altitude. Then once I'm on the LOC I select APP and I get perfect capture from top-dot down, it pushes over smoothly and rides the G/S but there seems to be an issue with the accuracy of the G/S as it relates to the FSX world such that I will impact short of the rwy. I have been in good viz situations so I can disconnect A/P and hand fly to touchdown. This has happened on KDCA 1 and KLAS 25L so I don't think that it's site-specific. I have no other nav or IRS alignment issues. I had a perfect install/activation, no scenery or other add-ons except using Radar Contact 4.3 (has been flawless). I'm flying the 738 with winglets. Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance,Joe

Dave, That was the problem--the destination folder!! It's perfect now with the usual saves for Radar Contact and with that folder for the NGX. And the FlightAware decodes is where i usually get my routes to begin with as well. Thanks, again! Joe

Fabrizio, and others, When I download the SimRoutes rte file to the NGX flightplan folder it 'saves' but then doesn't show up in the folder when I try to load it from the FMC. Now I download the rte to the desktop and move it to the PMDA/Flightplans/NGX folder and it works (but it asks for 'admin permission' to move the file). Is there a way that I can directly DL from SimRoutes right into the NGX flightplan folder? Thanks in advance! Joe

Colleagues, I've purchased 737NGX (and prior to release, the QRH) and have been searching for the 'basic' PMDA manuals with the NGX intro, configuration and system help, clickspots, etc. Should it/they have been downloaded with the plane and, if so, where does the installer put them? i've been managing to use the plane with the CDU menu options but would really like to read the basics. Thanks for any help! Joe

Would it be possible to add them from a prior version? If so, is there an easy way to let us know which files should be transferred and to which directories. As another thought, could we just overwrite the entire winwood directory with an older one without unleashing the dogs of war?Joe

I know there have been posts about pre-rec. chatter but I couldn't find a reference to this question:On my RC4/FS9 setup running pre-rec chatter seems to have less variation than previous versions (e.g. SFO area had unique SFO-appropriate ground, C-D, tower, approach chatter which now does not play on RC4.) Was this an intentional change or did some of my winwood files not load properly?Thanks for any help,Joe
