  1. If you update to the latest VRiSim software package from the page below you will see there is a key mapper included now for the V737 Overhead, you cant interface with the LED lights behind the panel but you can assign key presses to most of the switches and dials or use "mouse keys" which turn the button presses into virtual mouse actions on 2d panels. http://www.vrinsight.com/devel_shot You'll need; http://vrinsight.com...tall_VRiSim.exe and http://vrinsight.com...l_v737_OVHD.exe
  2. There is a version of MyTraffic X specifically made to work with Prepar3ed, its called MyTraffic 3D. http://forum.simflig...f-mytraffic-3d/ For clarity the product "Traffic 360" has nothing at all to do with MyTraffic X (notice the spelling and no space between the words My and Traffic), Traffic 360 is made by Just Flight and its an upgrade to their previous product called Traffic X. Yes traffic developers like the use of the words Traffic and X, lol.
  3. FSX can sometimes push a CPU as hard as the intel burn test does, and certainly harder than pretty much every other game out there, there are very few program's other than video encoding and synthetic tests that will push a modern CPU as hard.
  4. Try Deleting the default flight, go into the FSX.cfg and look for the line that starts with; SITUATION= Delete whatever comes after the equals sign then save fsx.cfg and that will restore the true FSX default flight, which hopefully will let the sim load. If not then back up the FSX.cfg by copying it to somewhere else and then delete it altogether and let FSX create a new one the next time it is run.
  5. You can use VRi hardware with USB3 ports just fine, it's just that some of the first motherboards to support USB3 weren't actually using native USB3 hardware and they aren't 100% reliable. If you have problems using a USB3 port then change to a USB2 port i.e. one that doesn't have a blue socket. The same goes for hubs, you can try them and if you do make sure it's a powered hub, but if you have problems then use a port on the motherboard instead. By the way the MCP2 Boeing and Airbus panels won't work at all if you don't use the supplied power supplies, they don't draw power from the USB cables as far as I understand it.
  6. Super and accurate are not words I would use regarding placement of the autogen that's for sure. Most of the buildings they place on the base image are grossly oversized and totally different to what should be there, just look for semi detached houses and terraces and you will see what I mean.
  7. They will just tell you you can email them for support, vote with your wallet instead.
  8. I'll say this one more time and then I am out of this thread for good as this very subject has been discussed to exhaustion before years ago by far smarter people than I. A long time before Earth Simulations became their own developer the guy behind the venture had already done what Orbx was doing (with another company) well before they even started out in scenery design and he stuck to the SDK and appended to the core scenery files! His scenery worked fine with everyone else's. Yes ES don't make Landclass scenery but the basics of sticking new never before seen Autogen and trees on top of textures is the same for Photo Scenery, except its on a much larger scale because no ground image sheet is ever used twice. The same index files are involved with both scenery types and must be added to so that new types of autogen and vegetation can appear in the sim on top of those ground textures. There is nothing arcane about appending to the description files, it just involves some thought and good housekeeping. All the details are in the SDK docs but Orbx chose to say stuff it to the SDK and to every other developer out there and completely replaced even the default files, so in the process of added their own custom Autogen and trees they broke every other scenery out there that relied on appended core scenery files or even the default description files. SO IT IS POSSIBLE, ES has done it with numerous projects like the Channel Isles and Shawbury Fields and it's written in black and white (and yellow) in the SDK documentation, lol.
  9. I give up, I take it you only beleive people who have an orange Member status..
  10. It may look alright but I can assure you the traffic quantities do double, have a look at the total amount of aircraft in Traffic Explorer included in the SDK and you will see two of everything after you have made a change in the scenery library manager and clicked OK. Make another change and click OK and you will see three of pretty much everything and so on. It's not a new phenomenon it's been happening since FSX beta days. The most obvious change is the reduction in frame rate and stuttering, it progressively gets worse because of the increasing load the AIplayer.dll puts on the sim.
  11. It's not always workable though, see my posts on this page, especially #212
  12. They screw other packages up because they swap out core scenery file components with their own rather than appending to the files like they are supposed to do according to the FSX SDK. One such file is the autogendescriptions.xml, they remove the original and replace it with there own. If some other scenery package had done the correct thing and appended to the autogendescriptions file it will no longer display properly (example roofs look wrong, autogen disappears completely, etc) when FTX Central is not in default mode. This is true for a couple of other important index files too which are swapped out by FTX Central.
  13. Like I said UT2 or traffic injected via Simconnect is not effected. The vast majority of traffic packages for FSX use bgl based traffic, not Simconnect.
  14. I'm sorry but you are wrong, all the default files that ORBX replace can be appended to rather than replaced, that's what the SDK tells you to do, but they (Orbx) chose to ignore it because it was too much work for them to make a program to make the appendixes properly without breaking any other scenery, Earth Simulations managed it though. That isn't helpful if you use AI traffic, every time you go into the library manager and remove a tick then click the OK button FSX reloads the scenery OK but it doesn't wipe out the previous iteration of traffic before loading a new copy, so you end up with twice the amount of AI traffic, go in again and you get three times the traffic and so on. The only traffic package that it's effected like this is UT2 because that traffic is destroyed every time the sim stops for anything that brings up a menu. Changing the traffic sliders doesn't help either because it's a bug, you have to reload the flight which breaks many complex aircraft anyway.
  15. UTX road traffic, lights and extruded bridges do indeed show up on top of Photo Scenery
  16. In your sound card options have a look for a tick box called "Loudness Equalisation". On my Realtek HD sound devices (ASUS MB) this is in the tab "Speakers> Sound Effects". I only found this option by chance about 2 years after buying this motherboard and it was amazing how many new sounds I was hearing that I'd not heard before in FS. Enabling this option does have some side effects sometimes, for example if you are in the cockpit of an aircraft with the engines off but with the battery on, if that aircraft has a sound for the gyro's in the aircraft their sound will be boosted slowly and after a few seconds it can get rather irritating loud. Once other sounds are mixed in as well the loud gyro will disappear into the background again.
  17. Blackrat try disabling any other third party landclass products you might have, I found that SceneryTech Europe made anomalies like this appear regardless of where I placed it in the scenery library list. It appears Orbx aren't excluding other landclass products properly leading to horrid views like this.
  18. You always have the option to cancel with this dialogue so the question is irrelevant, that's why I didn't understand what you were asking as it didn't and still doesn't make sense, sorry. AS2012 will never install any graphics without your express permission, it won't let you mistakenly try to install them when FSX or P3D is still running either.
  19. I'm sorry your question isn't totally clear I hope I get this right, lol. All post plan prompt does is ask you if you want to install WX influenced textures into FSX after a flight plan is loaded into AS2012. Removing the tick just stops the pop up message appearing after you have loaded a flight plan. To replace the tick you need to go into one of the options menus to re-enable it. Sorry I can't remember the exact location of the specific option as I am not in front of a PC with AS installed.
  20. Hi Mark, All service packs are inclusive, they would say otherwise if they were not.
  21. I posted this quote below in reply to your post in another thread on the same subject but you failed to reply so I'll post it again here. By the way GHD and I were beta testers for Horizon a long time ago now and I don't know if GHD is still a tester, but that is two of us now that have questioned your understanding of the basic fundamentals of photo scenery design in MS Flight Simulator.
  22. Yes TX flashing is normal. I've just confirmed that CRS 2 cannot be adjusted on the MCP Combo with VRiSim, it does work on the MCP2 and I did make Kook (the developer) at VRinsight aware of this bug on the MCP Combo many months ago, it appears its still not fixed. Hopefully Guenter can get Linda working again for you with linda in the mean time. By the way I stick Blu Tak on LEDS that get on my nerves, it doesn't leave sticky residue behind when you remove it
  23. What aircraft and what software are you using to control the MCP Combo. DME page one adjust VOR1 CRS1 and DME page 2 (i.e. press the dme button again to toggle between modes) adjusts VOR2 CRS2, but you have to turn the dial on the radio panel, not the CRS dial on the left side of the combo, you will also see the course displayed in the top right corner of the radio panel too. The TX and RX lights flash every time a display update is made on the panel and every time you send data to the sim by pressing buttons and turning dials etc.
  24. The CDN servers are dotted all over the world, its a content delivery network designed to handle huge loads like this i.e. thousands of servers all over the globe. I downloaded at about 10AM UK time from CDN2 and got this;
  25. Switch the radio section to DME2 then turn the dial on the radio section and it will adjust CRS 2
