  1. Yes you can switch to locked and unlocked spot view, but they both act the same as locked spot view, the momentum effect (like a fluid mount on a tripod) is not available, only the instant unsmoothed movement type is available due momentum effects not being supported in pseudo slew mode.
  2. Here's another acronym for you, read the FAQ on the Majestic website, it's covered there, lol.
  3. VNAV only works in descents, this is most definitely not a conventional FMS like a Boeing has for example, it does not work in a climb, its up to the pilot to enter altitude constraints manually with the altitude selector and then press ALT SEL to make the AP level of at the commanded ALT. You really do need to read the full manual and run through the tutorials.
  4. No I do not have any special test version, I just mentioned that I am using the latest interim update (4.869) just in case you were not using the same version as I or Tom possibly. You didn't really explain the situation very clearly other than to say it works. I was trying to ascertain whether you knew what the correct operation of ALT SET looked like on the display without sounding condescending
  5. But does it stay enabled, ALT SEL is supposed to stay visible on the PFD at all times till you disable it again or until it captures the selected altitude. A mouse macro did not work correctly for myself or Tom. I am using the latest interim version of FSUIPC from Pete's forum, unless of course he has released a new version in the last 24 hours that I haven't seen yet.
  6. Thanks for this Peter, but I take it you missed my my posts (#4 & 17) about the ALT SEL function on the Glareshield, it will not work with a mouse macro, it turns itself back off again a second or two after you action it with a macro. Instead you need to assign it to the default MSFS function AP PANEL ALT HOLD or Autopilot PANEL ALT Hold as its called in LINDA.
  7. No I've not even tried to look at that yet.
  8. OK I've found the command for the ALT SEL button in the MJC Dash8. For anyone trying to assign "ALT SEL" to their hardware, I've found out that in LINDA it is called "Autopilot PANEL ALT Hold", its in the default FSX area of LINDA. The name in FSUIPC is "Ap Panel Altitude Hold"
  9. The Majestic board is a nightmare to read to be honest, there is no "mark all as read" facility so its next to impossible to quickly read the forum.
  10. I'm not now that I think about it, lol.
  11. You pull it from the startup page of the secondary FMS, and you can push it from the FPL > Menu page on the primary.
  12. The lights are simple I'm sure Peter has them covered already. I've been trying to fudge the ALT SEL button in FSUIPC mouse macros for the last hour or 2 and I had no luck, it isn't tied to any L:Vars either as far as I can see, so I'm stumped.
  13. If the users viewpoint is inside any of the cockpit geometry (such as the seat or headrest behind the user) then the VC clickspots will not work, as technically you are no longer inside the VC as far as FSX is concerned. Move the viewpoint slightly forward and you will likely find that it starts working again.
  14. If the $50 meant nothing to them they wouldn't have released an Academic version in the first place.
  15. Linda will not work if it is not run locally on the FSX PC, I doubt you will even be able to get it to load.
  16. No, the joystick devices must be local to the FSX computer for LINDA to work, so there is little point in LINDA working over a network via WideFS.
  17. Certainly don't waste any money on another key for Windows 7 before you've tried it properly. When you install Windows and it asks for a key don't put anything in, leave it blank. You have 30 days to try it before you have to activate Windows with a valid key.
  18. Yes I used bootcamp to install Win7 on its own partition, but Windows doesn't play nice with the 2880x1800 resolution display on the 15" rMBP, it frankly looks awful and you have to scale the dpi up to 200% to make anything readable, either that or you have to run the display at a more reasonable resolution, in which case it looks a blurry mess. Then even if you do stick with the high res and dpi setting you then start having problems with program's that haven't been programmed to work with hiDpi settings (dialogue boxes don't look right, text gets cut short, etc) and I'd been through that minefield before with a previous OS (Vista) years before. That was too much like déjà vu so I gave up literally within an hour of installing it and got Bootcamp to delete the partition then merge it back into just one partition again. With a none retina display you should be ok and you should be able to use it as the EFB display unit, yes. Personally I just use a second display on my PC as I always run FS in windowed mode anyway.
  19. It should NOT make any difference, its still Windows7, just bootcamp made the install process easy, lol. I was playing around with Win7 on my rMBP the other day, I soon deleted it again though, I much prefer OSX on the MacBook, lol. Just type "UAC" in the Start menu search box and you will get where you need to go, it's a cinch.
  20. To be clear, you need to disable UAC by pulling the slider to the bottom, i.e. down to "never notify" I think its called. You don't have to run as administrator, but if you do then make sure all Apps that might want to communicate with one another all run in the same regime i.e. all programs must "run as admin" or all NOT run as admin. Windows wont allow communication between apps that are not run at the same rights level. If you are using Windows 8 then all bets are off, it may work but it probably wont. The best advice is to downgrade to Windows 7. In many cases if you recently bought a PC with Win8 Pro already installed you can get a free downgrade to Win7. Contact your dealer or Microsoft support directly to see if your OS/system is eligible.
  21. It's been working fine for me at all times since my last post in this thread, I am a beta tester at Aivlasoft so I visit the forum regularly and I've not seen any downtime. If you ever want to find out if a website is down you can use this website to test it for you. http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/
  22. It could be a DNS issue as well, I personally use Googles servers rather than relying on my ISP's.
  23. Try rebooting your PC, restarting your router/cable modem etc.
