I have a question re. FTX England, in FTXCentral is it still possible to revert to "default" FSX and not have all the extra folders/files load ? I feel this is important especially if FTX Australia/North America/New Zealand are also installed.

each FSX aircraft has an elevator trim effectiveness setting in its cfg file - its usually set to 1.0 if it is lowered to, say, 0.5 does this give finer "tuning" with each key or button press when trimming ?

hey IMC, try editing the Comanches aircraft.cfg file thus :elevator_trim_effectiveness = 0.25 // default 1.0aileron_trim_effectiveness = 0.25 // default 1.0rudder_trim_effectiveness = 0.25 // default 1.0I've got a CH HOTAS setup with buttons mapped to the trim - changing those values means that more key/button presses are required to change the trim value a given amount. If you've got a "centre-wheel" mouse you can also hover over the (overhead) elevator trim lever and slowly "ratchet" it up and down.101 hours in the ES Twin Comache now :)hope this helpsGreg

Hi Richard, unfortunately unlike FS2004 there is no easy way to set "spot view distance" in FSX, my understanding is that distance information is buried in each aircrafts *.mdl file and can't be easily edited. Some addon aircraft have quite distant "spot view" because its necessary for the modelling of aircraft special effects.Workaround - in spot view hold control button and zoom in or out using + or -, this prevents the "zoom" and will slowly move the "point of view" in or out. It can't be saved though and resets the *.mdl default each time the plane is loaded.Greg

Approaching 100 hours in the Twin Comanche now, more than double my next nearest FSX aircraft flight time.All it needs is ....... a Jim Clark livery repaint ! Haven't been able to find any pictures though, I read somewhere he learned to fly it in Australia :(

Supplementary question ...In settings-controls-keys how do you assign repeat values for a key ? I notice some have repeats by default, I would like to have my F2 button repeat to increase my reverse thrustGreg

An update, reinstalling UTX-USA v1.1 and the lakes are present and remain after the 1.2 patch.The culprit seems to be the 1.3 patch - after updating the lakes disappear.Do a UTX-USA OFF, the lakes reappearNeeds confirmationLongers
