  1. While this treat is almost 6 months old, I have to admit I do have the same problem over FTX UK. Elstree is a pain in the a$#. FPS are very low at this airport. I have no idea why just this small airport has so much impact on the fps while others don't. Southampton has great fps with much more AI traffic. Maybe there is a bug in the scenry causing this, but I was not able to locate the problem.
  2. Make a calculation in costs for paper, ink and binders and compare these costs to the price of the printed manuals PMDG is offering. You'll see there is not much difference between the two. The little ammount you pay is for the excelent quality of the binders ;)Good plan Robert to release paper manuals on these aircraft!
  3. You can put my name on the list too :( Well done!
  4. Well done AVSIM team! This is a good start and gives some hope for the remaining part! Thanks for all the work and time put into the recovery of the forums, and good luck on the library and other parts.
  5. Good news Robert (and the entire team). This aircraft has more details then ever seen in a simulation. I think this will be a best seller!Aircraft of this size are rarely seen in FS, so I think you made a good choice. Are you planning printed manuals for the JetStream too, or is this limited to the MD-11?
  6. Here never a BSOD caused by the TrackIR. As far as I can see, no influence on the FPS. As stated above, the best buy for FS for a long time!
  7. No problem at all with the combination mouse-TrackIR. It took me a while to learn (your head is moving more as you might imagine), but now I am used to it, I wouldn't fly without. It is a good investment for the hobby.
  8. Aerosoft is ditributing the boxed versions of the 737 (-600,-700 as a box and -800, -900 as a box), the B1900 and the 747-400 (pax) for PMDG. As far as I am informed, Aerosoft is going to distribute the MD-11 as a boxed version too. There will be a box with the FS9 version and a box with the FSX version. So a boxed version of the MD-11 is in the pipeline.

My experience is, when you follow the tutorial, you will be up and flying within a few flights. It is a very well written document.Good luck!
  10. I was in the middle of the same flight when I did read your suggestion about the scenery. The only difference was I had turned off the AI traffic. This time I was able to make it to the gate and close down the MD-11 as suposed. So it must be something in combination with AI traffic I asume.I will make a flight to the default EDDH, as you suggested tomorrow evening.
  11. Defragging has been done Saturday, so this isn't the problem. I will try a flight with the scenery disabled, and be back here. Can take a few days, as I have to work today and tomorrow and there is very little time left tot fly. (working is fun, but it shouldn't take such a large ammount of freetime :( )I hope I can give it a try today before I go of for working. And btw, thanks for your reply(s)
  12. Unfortunate I have to report the freezing/ctd still is here, when departing from Amsterdam to Hamburg. Sometimes I have the problem even before I left Amsterdam, sometimes just before I try to land at Hamburg. It is not SP2 related, as I have done a clean install of the MD-11 and I had the same crashes without any SP also. I will do some trials during the upcoming week in several locations, and reporting back here.If there is someone who is willing to give it a try, I started at EHAM gate S79 (cargo) used NL2000 V3. Andik departure from either runway 24 or 36CHamburg from Aerosoft GAP3.Elbe approach to either runway 05 or 23. (ILS).MD-11: Lufthansa cargo. All in FS2004In the mean time, I hope someone comes with a real solution.
  13. I had a simular problem on a flight from EHAM to EDDH. At first FS(9) CTD just before landing at EDDH, later on FS crashed right after startup at Schiphol. I deleted the files mentioned in this topic, and I was able to fly from EDDF to EHAM without any problem. Later today I will try the flight from EHAM to EDDH again. Thanks for pointing to this solution. I hope it will work for all my MD-11 flights.
  14. Thanks for this information. I will give it a try tonight when home from work.
  15. I am sure there is no way to ban piracy for 100%, and I can live with the limitations the security is causing. Security is used to minimize piracy as far as possible. So I fully agree with the security policy. It might cause some frustration with end users, but piracy is causing frustration with the developers (and their families if piracy is taking away a too large part of the income). The solution is taking away a part of the frustration of the dev's and leaving that small part with us, end users. I can live with that, keeping in mind why it is needed. So I was not wondering about the of re-activation it selves. The fact I was wondering about, is why I got the activation request after several months of use on one machine. I did try it on my other machine, but it has a few days after release of ASA. After I tried it and found out I would lik to use it on my network laptop, I did not activate it again on my desktop. During January, February and the first weeks of March, there has never been the need of re-activation. Yesterday suddenly, without oany changes in hard or software, I had to re-activate again. Then I ran out of activations. All has been solved by Jim, so no problem at all concerning the activation. The question remaining is, why I had to re-activate yesterday.Anyway, thanks for the quick service Jim!
  16. After several months of use, ASA today asked suddenly for a verification. I did as requested and all came back with remark I should contact support. This because I had to many activations :( I have had some activations during the first week of ASA, because I used it on FSX (on my desktop) and on FS9 (throught widefs on my laptop). For sure I have not activated for many weeks on my desktop. Till this morning ASA wasn't asking for activation for a long time. Now suddenly it asked again and I ran out of activations.I have send a mail to support, but I would like to ask for the cause of this, so other users can be informed too.

I think your order no has been removed by a forum moderator, and your question has to be answered by a support guy. These are two very different functions within a team. A forum moderator does not automaticly have access to support issues. (just like a beta team member does not have such access). I agree with you on the fact you should have received a reply from support. Hopefully you get the correct version soon so you can start enjoying this marvelous aircraft.
  18. The checklist contains 8 pages, so it is printed on both sides. Due to the metal ring, it is very easy to have the actual listpage upfront. It is a very easy to use list.I hope you will have the postman ringing your door very soon
  19. On "special request" here a scan of the checklist. The blurry is through the scanning. The metal ring is causing the list is a little of the scanning surface and is making the list looking like it is blured. The checklist is crisp and clear, so don't worry about this.
  20. I assumed PMDG was handling the US orders and Aerosoft the European. Sure anyone can order throught Aerosoft, but the most quick way is directly ordering through the PMDG webshop for the US is my opinion. Btw thanks for the compliment on the review. It was a pleasure to review this product, and the support of both PMDG and Aerosoft to get me a sample.
  21. I have all the MD-11 manuals by PMDG and I have written a review about the manuals. First the review was available in Dutch through my website, and later on I have also translated the review to English. AVSIM was offering to publish the review in English. Read all about the manuals here. I think it is a "must have" for the serious MD-11 simmer. It is a great addition to the marvelous "Princess of the Sky" of PMDG.
  22. I even had errors caused by Capitals. In the aircraft cfg was the texture folder mentioned with a capital, and the texture folder was not written with a capital. Result: error message in ACA2007 and probably a cause of a CTD. Check the error report carefully, as I didn't recognize this fault for some time.
  23. I am without OOM errors for over three weeks now. I am running Windows XP 32 SP2.What did I do to optimize my FS? I downloaded a program called ACA2007 (download here). It scans your aircraft cfg's for error. In my FS9, there where over 400 errors. The program tells you what the errors are and where, but doesn't give the solution. Much of the errors are related to typo's in the name of the texture folders, or related to missing texture folders. All aircraft cfg's are being scanned, including AI aircraft folders. An other thing I did was the tip I found in the AES forum about OOM and CTD's:When you have WOAI Traffic installed, it looks like that some of the aircraft use a Effect file called fx_strobex.fx, which is not present in the FS9 effects Subdir, so that the FS try to find this file 100 times a second. Solution: copy the file ..\EFFECTS\fx_strobe.fx to ..\EFFECTS\fx_strobex.fx This might work also for other AI (and maybe even other aircraft). For me this resulted in no CTD's and OOM messages.Hopefully some of you might benefit from this too.So you see there was not a PMDG MD-11 related source of the CTD's and OOM's.
  24. At the FSVisions forum are also some widescreenshots posted. The link is here. These shots are posted by fsfan73. These shots are both inside and outside.
