  1. It would have been better if the view panned back to center, instead of "snapping" back. Maybe they can change that...
  2. Multiplayer competition: WHO CAN FLY THROUGH THE HANGAR THE MOST TIMES IN THREE MINUTES.We position one willing player near the hangar, to act as judge, film the event with Fraps, and to count the number of times each player goes through. You can fly through either side of the hangar. Not hitting other planes is the pilot's responsibility. If you crash you're out. At the end of three minutes the winner is announced, and the film posted at Youtube. Spectators welcome. How bout it? Here's how scoring could be handled by the "judge":Flight conditions might include winds, poor weather. A night competition might be pretty cool, too.
  3. Hey, Luis, you may have hinted at a cool Multiplayer competition: WHO CAN FLY THROUGH THE HANGAR THE MOST TIMES IN THREE MINUTES.We position one willing player near the hangar, to act as judge, film the event with Fraps, and to count the number of times each player goes through. 4. Friday Harbor (and the rest of the San Juans) was one of my favorite destinations back when I flew a lot in RL. Used to park my biplane and hike down the road to the Summer Jazz Festival there, down by the water. Miss those days.
  5. I'm with ya. 59 here, so not far behind. Tried them all and still have the manual for the very first flight simulator in a box somewhere. Flight has the same newness and novelty that FU1 and FU2 had when they first came out, so despite the features that are missing for the hardcore simmers, Flight cuts a new, appealing path.
  6. Sunair was the first virtual airline I participated in, via "Prodigy". Traded lots of emails with James. It was a real loss for all of us when he passed away at too young an age.http://www.sunairexpress.com/
  7. Great post. I, too, have fond memories of ATP! Loved the post-flight ratings. Anyone remember SunAir Express and James Swanson?
  8. Thanks. Do you mind if I fly over my garbage and store it on that big lawn for a few days? I promise to remove it next week. Honest. :Pig:The pink hotel along Waikiki Beach is mine. Keep your grimy mitts off of it. :)Room rates: $500 per night.
  9. Jake, cool video! Another cool one at Youtube is this one:
  10. Actually, Papua New Guinea would be a fun addition. Valleys obscured by clouds, the hallans (highlands) would be a challenge, and spoken audio using tok pisin (PNG's form of pigeon English). I'd buy that DLC.
  11. Flight has pulled me away (at least for the time being) from "Rise of Flight". But, that said, I've been continuing to fly FSX at least as much as Flight. When (not if) TrackIR support arrives in Flight, I foresee that changing...
  12. Yea, it routinely flies above 60K. I used to fly them in Vatsim, and the controllers would try to order me around when I was above 60K. "So sorry, Charlie, you don't have jurisdiction over me up here".
  13. As for multiplayer, whenever I get in there with more than 10 others, it seems most of them are hanging around Hilo airport drinking Primo beer or somethin'. Comon! Get yer arses in the air and do some flying!
  14. Ok, here's my humble donation to the cause. My first "Flight" video using Fraps.http://youtu.be/NAO5aXqqs3I
  15. I would try re-compiling any of the other aircraft that worked in the past. If any of them work, it would indicate a problem with the SU-35 specifically.Oops. I see in your post that you've already tried this. Good luck.
  16. I got a variation of the above to work. Here's what worked: gauge37=....Lear45panelLear_45_XML!EICAS, 413,391My guess is that a separate .. is needed for each level back you need to go. Two folders would be .... and that makes sense for getting from an aircraft panel folder back to the "Airplanes" folder.
  17. Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I figured it might be as simple as including the path to the gauges I want to use, right in the panel.cfg file, and that's what I'll do for this panel. Thanks also for the example.
  18. The mousewheel method has made this piece of cake. I stuggled, too, until I read about using the mousewheel.
  19. Trees are situated like this in real life in order to make real flying exciting. Everyone knows that! :Peace:Here's another scary mountain landing for ya, not much for the trees, but the very short sloped runway:
  20. I can do that. For distribution, then, could I include those gauges in my .zip file, such that when unzipped those gauges are unzipped into the end user's FSXGauges folder, while the rest of the plane goes to FSXSimObjectsAirplanesMyPlane? If that's all there is to it, and it's legal, that's what I'll do. I guess the thinking is that you can't assume those gauges have already been copied to the end user's gauges folder, so your install has to copy them just in case...
  21. When adding a new gauge using FSPanelStudio the dialog box doesn't allow access to all of the stock aircraft gauges. For example, the Lear 45 cab file is not available in the list, so I can't select a Lear gauge. Of course, I DO have access to my plane's "panel folder". I'm trying to finish this plane up to upload as freeware here at Avsim, but I'm leery of the legal ramifications of copying gauges or cab files from the stock aircraft folders to my plane's panel folder in order to include them. So, FSPanelStudio doesn't show the other planes' gauges in the list, but is there a way to reference them anyway via direct edit of the panel.cfg file, by including a path in the gauge entry somehow? Or, is it legal to "borrow" gauges from the cab files of the stock aircraft in order to create a custom cab file for one's aircraft, which is then placed in the custom aircraft's panel folder (and thus accessible by FSPanelStudio). I would think it's legal, since anyone flying the downloaded plane would have to have FSX installed anyway. Thanks for any enlightenment...
  22. It's hard to beat http://www.hitechcreations.com Aces High for MMO WW2 aerial combat. But then again, that requires a $14.95 monthly subscription, which I've maintained since the AH open beta ended in late '99 or early 2000. Wow, that's over $2000!
