  1. Well, there should be some sort of award for 0:00 multiplayer. That's impressive!
  2. What it lacked in speed it made up for with agility. And it was inexpensive to manufacture, because it was made of bamboo. :Nerd: :Nerd:
  3. Zinfinion thanks for the response. I mean, that's what keeps me coming back to the Avsim forum: the wealth of knowledge to be gleaned from the myriad experts here, as well as the cheerfulness with which they impart their wisdom. That's in contrast to other boards I've visited, where the general attitude of posters sucks, with a net friendliness quotient of zero.
  4. Back in the days of Fighter Duel (and Net Duel) anything over 14 FPS was just gravy. Something about the fact that above a certain frame rate, the human eye is incapable of noticing the difference...as long as that frame rate is delivered smoothly. So, a smooth 20 probably looks the same as a smooth 60.
  5. As for the A5, I think you can put up a hefty deposit to reserve one, and pay the balance when they start production. They've been testing for quite a while now...shouldn't be too much longer. I want one. But...I'm not John Travolta.
  6. The constant reminder is useful to us older folks who don't remember anything. :Nerd:
  7. Great to hear! Did you attend school on Oahu? I went to Radford, right near Foster Village.
  8. Under the arch at Bellows! Made a few passes through the arch inverted last evening! Interesting tidbit... I'm an Air Force brat, and during the early 70's my dad (a Col. at the time, flew bombers in WW2 and Korea) would check out the cabins right on the water, for the weekend. Spent many a memorable weekend there, barbecueing and swimming, often swimming around the rock to Lanikai Beach. The body surfing at Bellows is/was kind of crappy, though.
  9. Air Force brat. Used to spend weekends at Bellows. I was stoked to see that the cabins by the water are there, right where they should be. Nice attention to detail. :)
  10. I use Malwarebytes (registered version) along with Windows Security Essentials and everything has been fine for a long time.
  11. It's cool to have both liveATC and "Flightaware" live tracking going at the same time, at PHNL.
  12. Nice pic of Manoa Valley. Used to live there.
  13. A "war" plane used for regular, non-combat flying--even if it still has the markings on it--is just another plane.
  14. Per Tom's suggestion, here is a Doodle schedule of upcoming races. http://www.doodle.com/biswf7d4ym7c68wxIf interested choose any or all of the three races listed.
  15. Someone suggested I use Doodle to schedule these, so here we go: http://www.doodle.com/biswf7d4ym7c68wx
  16. I'll check out doodle, Tom. Might be the answer.
  17. Yes it is. 1941 LCA, serial number 215. The virtual cockpit includes the hardware for the famous two-handed gear retraction process! (fly the plane with your knees while retracting/extending gear)
  18. Still trying to get people interested in fly-thru-the-hangar races at PHNL. I think the interest is there, but organization is the problem. Different schedules, etc...BTW Cool video! Will have to try that.
  19. I've actually done that using "dosbox". Brings back old memories, and works very well.
  20. Awesome! I did White Lightning/Spaceship 1 a few years ago, for FS2004.Here's what I'm working on for FSX (nearly finished:
  21. If they were thinking Pacific Theater then something other than a P-51 might have been more appropriate. Say F4U, Hellcat, TBD Devastator (jk), etc.I'll like it if it has a full cockpit. Quicker flights between the islands will be a bonus when I'm pressed for time.
  22. Gacview works great for cleaning out old ATI leftovers, probably would help with nvidia as well.
  23. Why did they tape over the guns? We could have used this to shoot down people trying to fly jobs in MP. :Peace: :Peace:
  24. I'm also going to film the races using my TrackIR 5 along with Fraps. I'll use mouse emulator and that scripting file described in another thread. I've already tested while flying and stopped using it because it doesn't always come back to center. That won't matter for filming races. I'll just hit my view reset joystick button to quickly get back to watching the hangar...
  25. I'm all for having the ability to create missions like we've been able to do with FSX (I use IMM and FSX Mission Editor). Giving end users more of a hand in the creative process can only improve the likelihood of Flight's longevity.
