Confused ! Fiber accelerator with Vsynce and DX10 fixer, really I am confused !
I use it with the big jets to fly into the frame-heavy add-on airports. Otherwise I don't need it. But for that kind of stuff, it works great.

FS Tramp Problems
It's crashing FSX for me also. I'm running DX10 with fixer. Is there a problem with that?

Where to layer Vector with UTX in Scenery Library?
I'm using Vector with all of the UTX regions installed. A lot of exploring left to do but so far no problems. Vector entries are below all UTX.

Meatwater voicepack available for download
The installation of this is too hard. Why is everything WinZip? I have not used that program for years. Why can't the files be extracted using the zip program with Vista 64 Home? I get a directory mwrc4_vocpack.zip showing all the 0-98 folders in it. When I try to move or copy the files to winwood all I get is error 0x80004005. Anyone have any ideas? ThxBarry

Practice Landing Weather
jbarrydrc replied to jbarrydrc's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumThanks Damien,That works pretty slick. Now I can use current weather with great textures and not have to worry about pesky surface wind while I practice landing. I'm getting into the habit of checking wind direction before choosing a runway so eventually I hope to stop using this little fix. But it's great while I get used to setting down correctly on the runways.Barry

loading flightplans
Maybe this will help. I run FSX,Flight Sim Commander, and Radar Contact. Then I fly the Level D 767 with no problems.Create flight plan in FSC. When you save it make sure two boxes are checked-Flight Sim Pln and Level D plan. This creates two files. One that FSX (or FS9?) reads and one that should automatically save in your Level D flight plan folder. Start Radar Contact and load the Flight Sim saved plan. Run Flight Sim and load your plane and the flight plan. In the Level D FMC load the company route plan you saved by checking the FMC level d save box. It should come into the airplane's FMC. All three programs should now have the same plan and you should be ready to perf init the Level D.Hope this helpsBarry

Practice Landing Weather
I am new to Active Sky and generally I want to fly real time weather situations as downloaded. However, I am still practicing landings. So I would like to create a situation where I can be assured there is no wind at all at my destination surface (and sometimes departure) airport. Am I right in thinking I can save a weather config file with no surface wind and drag it to my destination on the map? I do not want to change anything else about the weather-just surface wind to keep me from blowing off course during approach. Could someone kind of walk me through the procedure so I can be sure I get it right? Love the program by the way. One thing I learned, after a few crashes, is that it it is a good idea to turn on the pitot heat in winter. Could this be why some other people are reporting erratic airspeed behavior? I have not had that problem since using pitot heat.ThxBarry

Icing and Airspeed Indicator
I have started using ASA (beta installed) and I'm losing my air speed indicator on many flights causing the plane to overstress and crash FSX. I suspect it has to do with the pitot icing up. How can I just disable icing? I have FSUIPC4 installed. Maybe I can just make sure pitot heat is on, but I think I would rather just disable icing altogether. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks.Barry
